A lovely couple on the Upper East Side are looking for a full-time, live-out housekeeper for their 5-story townhouse. The schedule would be Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm. The couple have been in the home for 40 years; their current housekeeper has been there for the last 10 years and the housekeeper prior was with them for 27 years, so they are great, long-term employers. The current housekeeper is retiring and will be transitioning out in January 2022. The ideal start date would be ASAP.    The 5-story home is a historic building and does not have an elevator, so you must be comfortable with going up and down lots of stairs daily. The main responsibilities will be cleaning of the home, laundry for the couple, ironing, managing inventory for the home, running errands, cooking occasionally for the couple, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping all floors, deep cleaning, formal table setting, maintaining organization in the home, and grocery shopping for the home. The role will guarantee pay of 40 hours per week, and will have a schedule of about 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday. There will be some flexibility needed during parts of the year because of the nature of a parent's job. There is a major travel component of this role, as the family's situation is atypical and they split time between three locations. The most long-term residence is near Minneapolis, MN where the family spends 7 months of the year (usually April through October). The family then spends October through February in southern Alabama in a second residence. The schedule will be 9am Friday through 9pm Sunday and the candidate can expect to be available 24/7 during this time, though most often the shifts will end at the kids' bedtime. The majority of weekends will be spent upstate on the family’s farm, so outdoorsy candidates will thrive in this role.
