A busy family of four is seeking a full-time chef for their home on the Upper West Side. The schedule for this role is Monday through Friday, and the chef will be responsible for preparation of lunch and dinner, and light breakfast for the following day, which will be finished and served by the housekeeper. The approximate in-home hours will be 9:30am-7pm. The family will likely host several dinner parties per month at the home, so candidates should be flexible for that as well. 

This couple enjoys healthy eating, and would like to find a chef who can cook organic, clean, light, and delicious food. One of the principals is a vegetarian who enjoys Indian, Mexican, Chinese, and Thai cuisines, among others. The other principal prefers more simple foods, so the chef should be comfortable with preparing different meals to suit their preferences. The family also has a three-year-old child- the family is seeking a chef who truly enjoys cooking for children and is willing to cater to their preferences as well. 

The chef will also prepare snacks and meals to be reheated over the weekend. The chef will have full domain over the kitchen, and will be responsible for everything related to it, including grocery shopping, kitchen organization, keeping the pantry and refrigerator stocked with staples, and keeping the kitchen clean and tidy. This role requires a chef who cleans as they go, as the family eats most meals in the kitchen and would like the chef to depart when the meal is served. This role requires a candidate who is an open communicator, as the family prefers in-person discussions about upcoming menus and preferences. The ideal candidate for this role will be a true team player with a positive attitude and sunny disposition. 

This role is fully NYC based, with no second summer home. The family travels quite a bit and the chef will not be required to join them. A COVID vaccine is required for this role. The family will offer a competitive salary of $150,000-200,000, as well as health benefits. This position will be interviewing now, and will begin trials in mid-April.
