Overview

An adventurous family living in Weston, a suburb of Boston, is seeking a live-out nanny for their three children, ages 1, 4, and 16. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:45am – 3:45pm, with some flexibility required for later evenings as needed. The family is seeking someone who is willing to work 10-12 weekends per year, which will be scheduled in advance.

 

Duties for this role encompass all aspects of childcare for the infant and toddler, as well as children’s meal preparation, child-related laundry, errands, and keeping children’s areas tidy and organized. The family has a housekeeper, so deep cleaning is not required, but candidates should be proactive and take ownership of the children’s belongings. Mom stays at home and is very hands-on, so candidates should enjoy working as a team. The family is looking for someone who is open to learning about their parenting philosophy and following the methods and techniques they already have in place- candidates should have a growth mindset and be able to take feedback.

 

Candidates should have experience with infants and toddlers, a solid understanding of childhood development, and should be able to balance limits and boundaries with a playful and lighthearted energy. A sense of adventure is very important in this role; the nanny should feel comfortable allowing children to take risks and should enjoy spending time outdoors in all types of weather. The ideal candidate for this position will be service-oriented, proactive, and thoughtful, with a can-do attitude.

 

The family has a dog, so candidates should be comfortable working around pets and transporting them as needed. Experience in fully staffed homes is required. The family enjoys traveling and would love for their nanny to accompany them. There will be approximately 6-9 weeks of travel per year, both domestic and international. A COVID vaccine is required for this position, as is a valid driver's license. Candidates should be non-smokers, and the ability to swim would be a bonus.
