A busy family on the Upper East Side is seeking a live-in housekeeper/nanny for their 4 children (14, 12, 9 and 6-years-old). The schedule will be Friday 9am through Sunday 9pm. The candidate can expect to be available 24/7 during this time, though most often the shifts will end at the kids' bedtime. The majority of weekends will be spent upstate on the family’s farm, and a private bed/bath will be provided for the candidate at all locations. This position offers full-time hours over 3 days.  The children will be at school on Friday, so when the candidate arrives they will be responsible for preparing for the weekend, including packing the children's bags and doing any necessary shopping. After school on Friday the candidate will travel out of town with the family, and will return with them on Sunday evening. Job duties will vary for this position- some weekends will be very slow as the parents will have all the children out and about, and some will be very busy. The parents will be around most of the time, so it is important to the family that the candidate have a great attitude and is able to roll with the punches and be willing to wear many hats (preparing meals, tidying up, doing laundry, picking-up and dropping off the children, running errands, searching for the lost blanky, etc). Generally once the kids are in bed, the nanny will be free to rest and "clock out". If the children wake up in the middle of the night, the parents will manage their needs. The candidate is responsible for waking up with the children Saturday and Sunday at 7am. If the parents are out of town, the candidate will be fully responsible for them. Candidates will ideally have initiative, confidence, and a “can-do” attitude. Strong swimming skills and a valid driver's license are required for this role. The family has a dog, so candidates should feel comfortable around dogs and should be willing to assist with pet-care as needed. This role will be responsible for the deep cleaning of the home and guest house. The main house is 10,000 sq ft, 5-bedrooms, 6-bathrooms, and there is a basement with a wine room. The guest house has 3-bedrooms, 2-bathrooms, a living room and kitchen on the second floor, and 1 staff suite downstairs.   This role requires care in cleaning of delicate items, polishing silver, steaming rugs/carpets, and other specialty care. To be successful in this role, you must have extreme attention to detail and be very organized and attentive, particularly to put everything back where it was. The executive housekeeper must also have experience with formal table service for dinner parties. This person will also possibly run errands- errands may include driving into NYC. A busy family in Nichols Hills, OK, is seeking two infant care specialists to share the care of their third child, starting in mid-May, when she will be 6-months-old. This is when the newborn care specialist, who BAHS placed in November, will be leaving (amicably- she is relocating to Europe). Candidates will work 20 hours per day, 7 days per week, on a 1-week-on/1-week-off schedule. This is a formal, fully-staffed household but it’s a home first and foremost, and the family would ideally love the candidates to be pitch-in, and have a team-player mentality. They’d love candidates to commit in a long-term, ongoing capacity. There will be separate living quarters provided, and domestic and international travel from time-to-time. The schedule will be Monday through Friday from about 8am to 4pm (40 hours guaranteed). In the Summer months, the housekeeper will be expected to spend 2-3 consecutive days per week (Tuesday through Thursday, for example) at the family's home in the Hamptons; a separate accommodation will be provided there. Job duties will include the maintenance and deep cleaning, laundry, and organization of the 6-bedroom home. This will consist of day-to-day maintenance cleaning and tidying, heavier deep cleaning and organization, inventory tracking of dry goods and groceries, management of preparations for guest arrivals (about 1x per month), and overseeing daily operations of the home and any vendors or contractors coming in and out. Duties will also include some running of errands (e.g. the post office or dry cleaner), assistance with meal preparation, and occasionally helping when the principals are preparing to entertain guests. The family has two elementary-aged children.
