Job Locations UK-London
A British/American family re-locating to the UK seek a fantastic, pro-active and educated live-in nanny to care for their inquisitive toddler and, to a lesser degree, their newborn.  The family will arrive in January and will be in Berkshire for three or so months initially.  They are then hoping to head to Europe for a few months of travelling before returning to London around September 2022.  The nanny would be with them throughout this time and can expect a usual schedule of 7am-7pm, Monday to Friday.  However, the family would also appreciate a degree of flexibility to allow for occasional baby-sitting and also some weekend work.   The parents are very involved with their children's upbringing and will certainly be around for the first year at least that they are in the UK, so the role will be a mix of shared care and sole charge.  Mum is expecting to be doing most of the care for the newborn, so the primary emphasis initially will be on the 3-year-old.  Duties will include all the usual nursery duties, including laundry and ironing and keeping the children's areas tidy.  The family are very keen on nutritious, balanced and home-cooked meals in supporting their son's healthy development, so menu planning and preparing delicious, healthy meals will be an important part of your role.  Education and learning is also a fundamental part of their child's upbringing - he is curious, intelligent, focused and capable, loves asking questions and also learning new things.  Supporting him in this, bringing play-based learning into his environment, taking him on outings and then following up with projects and activities that lead on from the day's activities will all be a key part of the role.  He is also active and enjoys sport so please be energetic and and have a love of the outdoors.   The ideal candidate has an intuitive understanding of children, is aware of developmental milestones and has probably studied the early years.  As a person, you have bags of initiative, only need to be told something once, are naturally curious and fun-loving, and love supporting and encouraging the journey that children are on.  Kindness, flexibility and a positive attitude are crucial - the role is about supporting Mum and making her life easier by really focusing on the children, sparking their curiosity and encouraging them to thrive and excel.  The parents value open communication and appreciate a muck-in attitude.  If you are interested in the role and legal to work in the UK, please apply to ZI083.
