Overview

A dynamic and loving family of five on the Upper West Side is seeking an educated career ROTA nanny to join their team and help care for their three children, ages 6, 3, and 7 months. This is a live-out role- candidates must be local and able to commute to the UWS daily. The schedule will be 7am-7pm, 7 days per week, with a one-week rotation.

The nanny should consider herself a COO of the children’s lives, proactively planning and managing their activities and nurturing their development. The family intends to treat the nanny as a partner to ensure full coverage of the children’s needs, working alongside the other ROTA nanny and the family housekeeper. The focus is on the children- both parents work demanding and unpredictable jobs and are counting on the nannies to be fully responsible for everything to do with the children’s lives. The nanny should feel comfortable taking ownership of the children’s belongings and schedules, and should work cohesively with her co-nanny to ensure full coverage for the family and a seamless hand-off at the end of each shift. In the event of an emergency, the family expects the nannies to cover for each other. The family also expects nannies to stay abreast of important developments during off-weeks (e.g., monitoring correspondence, sending forms and updating calendars as needed).

The family enjoys keeping their children busy and active, and the children have multiple after-school activities. The family is seeking someone who wants to provide physical, emotional, and social stimulation and growth, and facilitate interests and friendships. The family is looking for a nanny who is proactive and educationally focused, who thinks ahead and makes plans for the children’s development. The family has a housekeeper who handles weekly cooking and laundry. Aside from preparing light breakfasts for the children and organizing snacks, no cooking will be necessary.
