A sweet family is looking to hire their second ROTA nanny to relocate to Puerto Rico and care for their two young children. The schedule will be full-charge live-in 14-day rotations (14 days on/14 days off) with flexible notice on both sides if the schedule needs to deviate at times. There is a furnished apartment for the nannies to live in that is a few minutes from the Principal's residence. There is also a car provided for the nanny’s use during time off. The start date is ideally May 1st, but they can be flexible if needed. The family lives just steps away from a secluded beach in a nice, family-friendly area so the nanny must be a strong swimmer. The parents will pop in and out throughout the day and are involved but are very respectful and non-micromanaging, trusting the experienced and skilled nannies to do their job. They foster a respectful environment and desire nannies who view their career as their calling; they want their nannies to be happy. Preference is given to a nanny who is: Norland-educated, Childhood Development-educated, Early Childhood Development-educated, Occupational Therapy-educated, or Speech Therapy-educated. They appreciate nannies who care about their children’s development and will foster their continued growth.   The nanny to hire must be passport-ready and be willing to travel domestically and internationally. They want a long-term, happy, and sustainable relationship with their nannies. Some of the personality traits desired are: 24/7 mentality, full charge while living in with family; able to care for children solo while parents travel a few times a year; experience with preparing healthy and creative children's meals; setting routines and teaching independence in those routines; resourceful in coordinating playdates and enrichment activities; purposeful play for education and motor skills; open to learning new skills and approaches related to child development; experience traveling with a family, resourceful and adaptable in new environments (expect 3 months of travel a year approximately); excellent planning and time management skills for self and children's routine; comfortable cooking for self; easy-going and go-with-the-flow mentality.   The nanny to hire must be someone who is able to handle the challenges of little ones, has energy to do a 24-hour role and sometimes on less sleep (i.e. if the baby is up sick during the night), is good at taking care of herself and being self-sufficient (i.e. while working preparing her own meal to eat in order to make sure she has energy and is nourished), and has good time management. It is a bonus if the nanny has 1 year of live-in experience and/or travel nanny experience. It is strongly preferred the candidate to hire has ROTA nanny experience.   Responsibilities include all areas of caring for the children, cleaning up after, maintaining their space, and inventory of related items. Household responsibilities are minimal and really just around being a team player. A few times a year the Principals will need help with their dog when they travel, so the candidate to hire must be comfortable with dogs.   Health insurance is offered for this role. A busy and artistic family based in Brooklyn Heights is seeking a top-notch nanny/family assistant for their two girls, ages 6 and 9. The schedule will be a guaranteed 40 hours - likely 11:30am-7:30pm Monday through Friday during the academic year, and an earlier start (and generally an earlier finish) when the girls are off school (i.e. when they are sick or during the school vacations - Christmas, Spring, Summer etc.). They are flexible on start time as all the children are in school, but will always need availability during the evening hours. Childcare responsibilities will include daily care of the girls, school pick-up, engagement in their respective interests, and light housekeeping, meal prep, and laundry for the girls. The ideal candidate will have a child-related or other relevant college degree (at minimum), as well as relevant experience working in a similar capacity with the same age group. Candidates should be warm and loving while maintaining boundaries to ensure the children respect them as an authority.
