Job Locations US-NY-Bronxville
A very nice, professional couple is looking for a long-term, part-time, live-in weekend nanny, in the Bronxville area of Westchester, NY. The roles starts as soon as possible. The live-in accommodation is a private bedroom/bathroom suite in the home, and they have an open kitchen policy. The family includes the mother, father, 2.5-year-old boy, and 6-month-old baby boy. Other staff includes a full-time weekday nanny and they have a housekeeper who does the deep cleaning. The nanny must have experience caring for infant through toddler age children in a private residence. Experience must include caring for two children, 2-years-old and younger, for a family. The weekend nanny will arrive Fridays at 8pm (or can arrive earlier, if they like), then leave 8:30pm on Sundays. Their son is quick and energetic, so the nanny needs to be someone who can comfortably climb stairs while carrying him and who can easily get up and down off the floor and run around with him. They would ideally love to find someone who is very warm, loving, bubbly, cheerful, very upbeat, fit and energetic, caring and responsible. On Saturdays and Sundays, the nanny would start at 6am and be available to actively work until 8:30pm, but they only ask this person to actively work a maximum of 12.5 hours per day. They will provide a break during the day so that only a maximum of 12.5 hours are actively worked during the day (and frankly, they rarely need the full 12.5 hours but appreciate the flexibility). They’ll need someone who is okay with being flexible on the schedule of when their break is and what the plans are for the weekend given the parents’ work schedules and personal plans change day to day on the weekend. There will be plenty of weekends where they won't need nearly 12.5 hours each Saturday and Sunday, such that there will be longer breaks or multiple breaks, but they will provide guaranteed pay each weekend regardless. In addition to the above, the weekend nanny must be willing to stay in the house and have their son on the baby monitor on their phone, after he goes to sleep each Friday and Saturday night, in case the parents have plans to go out. This will only be if the parents go out. And if so, they are usually home by 10:30pm. They text the nanny letting them know they are home, then the nanny can turn off the monitor for the rest of the night. While the monitor is on, after the kids go to sleep, the nanny would not be actively working and would be able to shower, watch TV, talk on the phone, make dinner, etc., just so long as the weekend nanny is in the house and has the monitor on. The parents advised both are sleep trained and sleep through the night. In terms of responsibilities, they are looking for typical nanny duties attending to anything that the child needs (making simple, healthy food for him, feeding him, changing him, his laundry, tidying up after him, bathing him, playing with him, taking him to the park/playground a 5-minute walk down the street, reading to him, doing arts and crafts, etc.). They would also ask for help with minor household tasks such as emptying the dishwasher as needed or opening packages for him and putting them away (but no family laundry or deep cleaning as they have a housekeeper twice each week who helps with that). They do not need someone who drives, but do need someone who can reliably get themselves to and from their home on time each weekend (they are a 5-minute Uber ride away from the Bronxville Metro North station, so the nanny could easily take the train from the city and Uber themselves to and from the families' home each Friday and Sunday). The salary for the weekend nanny will be $30/hour, with a guarantee of 25-hours per weekend, for a total of $750/per weekend. They guarantee the $750/per weekend, even if the nanny works less than the 25-hours, which will likely happen often. They also offer two weekends of paid vacation (one the nanny chooses and one they choose), two paid sick days, and paid holidays for the six major holidays to the extent they fall on the weekend. You must have a U.S. Birth Certificate, valid U.S. Passport, or valid Permanent Resident Card (Green Card), to apply for this role. The nanny be COVID, TDAP, and Flu vaccinated. If interested, apply to VV315.
