Overview

A warm, loving bi-coastal family is seeking a long-term, experienced, and flexible full-time nanny who is able to travel and provide care for their 8-month-old daughter. While the primary home base is UWS, NY, the family spends approximately one month in San Diego, CA when the weather is chilly in NY, several months in Westchester, and travels extensively throughout the year. The position is live-out when in the city and live-in when traveling outside of the city. The general schedule will be Monday through Friday from 7am to 7pm with flexibility. The family is open to discussing the schedule and understands the need to factor in commute time. The ideal candidate will be a true partner in the family’s parenting journey and will be excited about helping the family thrive. Local candidates only, please.

Responsibilities

Include, but are not limited to:

  1. All aspects of full-charge care
  2. Support early childhood learning and development (curriculum/design experience is a plus!)
  3. Light housekeeping related to the child (tidying play areas, nursery, baby laundry)
  4. General household help: light errands, occasional tidying, and child-related tasks -Family has a housekeeper
  5. Meal prep for child and 1–2 simple family meals per week
  6. Light pet care for a friendly standard poodle
  7. Domestic and international travel
  8. Pack/unpack and travel prep
  9. Driving or escorting the child to/from activities
  10. Ensuring the safety and well-being of the child at all times
  11. Actively engaging in educational play and developmental activities, including reading, listening to music, and providing fun, creative arts, and crafts
  12. Schedule play dates and appointments for the child
  13. Create a schedule and log to keep parents informed, and work collaboratively to ensure nothing falls through the cracks
  14. Proactively research local age-appropriate activities, including pop-ups and special events

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a similar role
  • Comfortable navigating the city with ease with a small child
  • Bilingual is a plus
  • Warm, intuitive, proactive, and can "go with the flow"
  • Comfortable integrating into family life – collaborative but able to take initiative
  • Excited about travel, adventure, and becoming part of a child’s early development
  • Experience working in homes with parents working from home
  • Ability to read the room and know when to step in, step back, or remain close by
  • Friendly, outgoing, and professional
  • Trustworthy, dependable, and happy to pitch in where needed
  • Collaborative team player
  • Adapt easily to different environments
  • Provide thoughtful recommendations while being respectful to parents’ feedback
 

Requirements

  • Ability to travel for extensive periods of time both domestically and internationally
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (Home in Westchester – Driving required, and car will be provided)
  • Pet friendly
  • Ability to swim is preferred
  • Seeking a long-term position
  • Flexible to work overnights and weekends as needed
  • Experience with multiples as the family wishes to grow in the future
  • Legal to work in the U.S.
 

Salary and Benefits

The family is offering $35+ per hour DOE and a negotiable benefits package
