A private family in Brentwood, LA seek an experienced full-time, live-out chef who is extremely confident cooking European-style cuisines.  Expect to work Sunday to Thursday most weeks, however please be flexible to allow for changing needs and itineraries.  Candidates will be preparing lunch and dinner for 2 principals and their four children, all of whom have different dietary requirements – you will need to be comfortable and confident preparing a variety of styles including keto, vegetarian and vegan, gluten and egg-free etc.   The ideal candidate has at least 3-5 years experience working in fully staffed households and with preparing a variety of cuisines including (but not limited to) Mexican, British, Italian, and Japanese.  You will be happy to work with the family in planning the week’s meals, comfortable learning their favourite family recipes and flexible enough to cater for last minute changes.  The role will include provisioning (F&B) and organising the kitchen, including doing the clearing up after cooking, doing regular inventories and ensuring adequate stock levels of all pantry and perishable items, and you will be responsible for training the housekeepers in preparing and serving breakfast and working with the butler to ensure a smooth meal service.  The family appreciate fresh, seasonal, organic food so please be passionate about sourcing the finest ingredients and preparing delicious, healthy and beautifully presented meals.  You will also be responsible for the budget, ensuring value for money and conscious of reducing wastage.  Someone who demonstrates initiative but who is equally happy to prepare the family favourites will do well in this role, as will someone who enjoys baking items that appeal to children.  There may be some low-key weekend entertaining with family and friends, to include BBQs or a Thanksgiving dinner, for example, so please be experienced at catering for up to 20 people.   Candidates must be team players and hands-on, happy to serve if required and to take ownership of the kitchen, keeping it meticulously clean and hygienic.  Knowledge of European and British cuisine is essential, experience working in Europe or preferably the UK would be a bonus.  If you are interested in the role, are based in or around Los Angeles and have all papers to legally work in the US, please apply to ZI169.

Seeking a full-time governor/family assistant for a private family who split their time between Dubai and Monte Carlo. The usual schedule will be Monday through Saturday, from approximately 7:30am-6:30pm, however flexibility would be appreciated to cover for when the family are entertaining (up to twice per week).  Expect to spend 7-8 months of the year in Dubai and 4-5 months of the year in Monte Carlo, but there will also be regular international travel. Responsibilities will include supporting the 4-year-old child's learning, etiquette, health and well-being while also assisting the family wherever needed. This will include overseeing the day-to-day education of the child, leading fun and educationally stimulating activities, encouraging a love for exercise, developing his knowledge and encouraging his curiosity in the world around him, and generally ensuring a safe and nurturing environment that promotes a confident, independent, and happy child. He will be attending a prestigious school in Dubai and so the governor must have experience with the British curriculum, with preparing children starting school and with supporting their continued growth and development in an intense learning environment. Other duties will include running errands for the principals, driving, shopping, making reservations and generally being available to assist wherever possible. The ideal candidate is educated, active, and discreet, with a consistently positive outlook. A lovely, busy international family are looking for a top-notch domestic couple to look after their London and, occasionally, their country homes in the UK.  When the family are in residence the couple can expect to work from 8am until 9 or 10pm with a couple of days off per week (not necessarily over the weekend).  When the family are abroad, then the role will revert to a more normal schedule of Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm. The couple will be responsible for all aspects of housekeeping including general cleaning and tidying, deep cleaning, silver cleaning, French polishing, laundry and ironing.  Other duties include, but are not limited to, cooking and serving, general maintenance, running errands, grocery shopping, looking after vehicles and occasional chauffeuring and general butler duties.  This is a busy, hands-on role and would suit an active, engaged couple with a 'muck-in' mentality. The ideal candidates are discreet, flexible, calm, and very capable, with positive, can-do attitudes and excellent references.  The ability to speak Spanish would be a plus.  The family would prefer that if one person specialises in housekeeping, then the other person is comfortable taking on the cooking and meal prep - when the family is around the focus is very much on housekeeping and meals and it will be too much for just one person.  Accommodation is provided in the basement of a newly-built house in Notting Hill.  When the family are in residence, the space will be shared with the children's nanny.   If you are interested in the position and are legal to work in the UK, please apply to ZI056.
