Seeking an experienced and organised live-in domestic couple for a beautiful 11,000 square foot home in Ireland.  The usual schedule will be 8am – 7pm, Monday through Friday, however please be flexible to allow for events, dinners, guests, and occasional weekend work.  Ideally, one half of the couple will take on the housekeeping and house management duties, while the other half will be an experienced chef, comfortable with farm to table cuisine.  The position is likely to start mid to late January or February 2024.   For the house manager/head housekeeper role, please expect all the usual duties including, but not limited to, ensuring the home remains pristine and exudes warmth and refinement, coordinating, training and scheduling the housekeeping team, liaising with the maintenance team and Estate Manager and with vendors and contractors, provisioning and re-stocking the home and keeping an up-to-date inventory, running errands, creating a household manual, managing budgets, organising, sending and receiving deliveries and packages for the household, providing day to day direction for staff and generally being the go-to person for everything relating to the home. The family are in residence for approximately 6 months of the year. When they are in situ, the role will be very much about attending to their needs: looking after guests, friends and extended family and ensuring that the home looks beautiful. For the other 6 months of the year it is possible that the estate will be used for a variety of events.  It would therefore be helpful if the candidates has some experience with organising events and is comfortable liaising with the various organisations involved, while caretaking the main home and ensuring that any maintenance is dealt with.   For the chef role, the family are keen to find someone really excited about fresh, healthy farm to table food.  The estate used to have a walled kitchen garden and the principals would love to re-instate this – so a passion for produce and quality ingredients, as well as for developing and tending the kitchen garden, is essential.  When the family are present the role will involve cooking for them, their guests, friends and extended family.  Expect to prepare breakfast, lunch and a 3-course dinner, as well as afternoon tea and to ensure a fully stocked fridge for snacks.  For the other 6 months of the year it is expected that the estate will be used for a variety of events, some of which will need catering for, so prior experience cooking for events, or even being involved with pop-up dinners, would be preferred.   The ideal candidates are warm and positive, happy to provide excellent service and have 'pitch-in' attitudes.  Attention to detail, initiative and the ability to self-direct are also essential traits.  An adventurous and innovative chef would be preferred, someone who really understands the importance of quality ingredients and who is happy to be hands-on with growing, preparing and cooking is key.   One or both candidates will need to be confident drivers, and accommodation is a separate bedroom with en-suite.   If you are interested in the role and legal to work in Ireland, please apply to ZI215.

An adventurous family based in Dorado, Puerto Rico, is seeking a multi-lingual, live-in travel nanny/educator to provide care and develop and implement an academic curriculum for their bubbly 3 year old girl, starting full-time from April 2024, but with the aim of having a candidate join them on a few international trips between now and then. The family spend the summers/ hurricane season traveling, and the candidate will accompany them.   The schedule will be 50 hours per week, divided over 6 days, as follows: Monday through Thursday from 9am-5pm, which would include a school block of 2-3 hours in the morning, a midday break for lunch and planning between 12-2:30/3pm, followed by a mid-late afternoon post-nap adventure activity. Candidates will typically have Fridays off. The schedule on Saturdays and Sundays will be 7am-12pm (often only until 10am), and the parents would love candidates to be open to babysitting 1-2 evenings per week up to 8 hours total per week (i.e. to bring the total number of hours up to 50 per week) - these evenings will always be scheduled in advance. Between the hours of 12-3pm Monday through Thursday there is a nanny/ house manager who does lunch and nap time with the toddler, so the lunch and planning block can be used to get other things done without also minding her.    Childcare responsibilities will include creating/ organizing enriching and physically and emotionally safe life experiences and activities, meal prep, cooking for the toddler, managing meal times, cleaning up, keeping play areas, the toddler’s bedroom, and toys tidy, doing laundry and organizing the child’s closet, organizing playdates, arts and crafts, pick up and drop off, library programs, extracurricular activities, bedtime/naptime, dressing, potty training, night diaper changing, helping to teach manners, managing and redirecting toddler behaviours, providing positive reinforcement, modelling good behaviours and the family’s values, and generally providing love and care.    Educator responsibilities will include developing and/or implementing a curriculum designed for 3-4 year olds, designing and implementing the educational space, evaluating progress, identifying areas of strength and areas of opportunity, identifying and supporting individual learning styles, communicating with the parents and, if applicable in a pod, other parents. Other responsibilities will include monitoring and tracking supplies, submitting purchase requests, and ordering as required.  In addition to caregiving/educational responsibilities above, candidates will be required to assist with packing, unpacking, and in-transit activities, setting up sleeping spaces, arranging activities at each destination, and maintaining meals, sleep routines and educational schedules, as appropriate. If candidates are not comfortable designing the curriculum, the family work with an individual who can do this for them, and the candidate will simply have to learn and deliver this to the toddler, with their remote guidance.   Candidates should ideally be college educated and experienced caregivers with a background in early childhood/elementary education (or equivalent). A Montessori-based approach is preferred, and candidates should possess a life-long learner mentality, love the outdoors, be warm, kind, adventurous and curious, naturally wanting to engage young minds and energies by developing and/or organizing activities that nurture creative spirits and stimulate a love for learning. Other traits the family are seeking in a candidate would be that they are a well-rounded, discreet, emotionally balanced individual with a plethora of interests and hobbies, being self-aware and and spiritually oriented. It’s imperative that candidates enjoy all kinds of weather, and are comfortable in the water - be that a pool or the ocean/ on a boat. The ideal candidate should enjoy skiing or snowboarding or other winter sport activities, and at least have a willingness to learn new sports.    It’s essential that candidates have an up to date passport and driver’s license. It would be ideal if candidates were fluent in either French, Spanish or Mandarin. Candidates must be comfortable signing an NDA with this family. The family are offering a competitive compensation package, as well as a separate studio suite attached to their main residence with it’s own private entrance in Puerto Rico. If you are interested, with a US passport, Green Card or EAC, please apply to KP495.
