A Maryland-based family needs an experienced and professional house manager to help set-up their brand new estate for success. This is hands-on role and requires the teaching of newly hired staff to ensure that proper house standards and processes are established. The role includes establishing a household manual and corresponding processes, facilitating communication between the two principals and their staff, and generally helping to get the house performing smoothly. Areas of management include inside the house (housekeeping standards, inventory, laundry, organization, formal and informal service, care of antiques, silver and art) and externally (liaising with grounds staff, managing vehicles and working with third party vendors). This role is perfect for someone with bags of enthusiasm, lots of initiative, and an excellent communication style. You must be detail oriented, confident leading a team of staff, and able to hit the ground running. This is a temporary role (approx 2-3 weeks) to get the house established and is the perfect opportunity to put your mark on a brand new house as well as getting a great reference for your resume.
