A busy professional in Portland, OR, is seeking a full-time “everything person.” The schedule will generally be 9am-5pm Monday through Friday, though flexibility to occasionally help with school pick-up/ babysitting (Dad has 50/50 custody of a 4.5-year-old)/ weekends (often with little notice, since Dad’s work schedule can be unpredictable) would be greatly appreciated. You would typically be required to work out of the family home, taking charge of everything and anything, including (but not limited to) personal travel, paying bills and other generic paperwork, general housekeeping (dishes, surfaces, tidying up), occasional deeper cleaning (floors, rugs, bathrooms, etc.), laundry, walking the family dog (and occasionally caring for her overnight), mowing, watering, and maintaining a very small yard, grocery shopping on occasion (though Dad typically handles this), general maintenance on the house (fixing lightbulbs, hanging pictures, unclogging drains, etc.), managing vendors and on-site coordination for any heavier lifting (e.g. landscaping, minor redecorating, etc.), doing basic research and making online purchases (e.g. organizing a last minute getaway) and more. The ideal candidate will be a real ‘Jill of all trades’ - someone flexible, who is willing to show up reliably, grind through a long list of relatively menial chores consistently, but do it with a positive attitude. A sterling work ethic and sound judgment are essential. The successful candidate will be perceptive enough to figure things out without being explicitly told, receptive enough to not need to be told twice, and organized enough to get it all done consistently the same way every time. Dad travels frequently and takes his daughter with him whenever possible, so candidates will be required to accompany them and assist with childcare a few times a year.
