Formal private home seeks a personal chef with knowledge of a broad range of cuisines, particularly Mediterranean, Southeast Asian, and Caribbean, and a focus on seasonal menus using green-markets and organic suppliers. The position is based at the employer’s Upper East Side residence from Monday-Friday and is expected to cover lunch and dinner daily for one to two people plus occasional larger groups.

Flexibility for occasional travel to employer's other residences is required, with the understanding that these trips will include weekends and breakfasts as well as lunches and dinners. International travel possible for 1-2 weeks at a time, approximately 4-6 times per year. Extensive culinary training, work experience in a formal private home, and excellent references are essential, as are professionalism, a positive attitude, refined self-presentation, strong organizational skills, and dedication to maintaining a clean kitchen. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) required for entry of weekly menus and new recipes into database. The chef is responsible for petty cash and prompt submission of receipts. You must have a US Passport, Green Card, or EAC with travel permission. If you are interested please apply online to KR313.
