A discreet, very private family seeks an extremely professional live-in Housekeeper/Family Assistant for their home in Deerfield, MA, as well as for when they travel. Expect standard full-time hours for most of the year, but significantly increased hours that include weekends and longer days during busier periods

The ideal candidate will manage housekeeping for the residence, cook for the family, and will offer kind and nurturing care for a school-aged child. The prinicpals will consider candidates who prefer to offer family assistant and cooking support only, but who will take on management and oversight of household cleaning, laundry etc (including findigng the right people to do it!)

Childcare

• Ensuring the 12yr old is up and ready for school on time
• Preparing his breakfast
• Driving him to school when required
• School pick-up as needed, as well as potentially taking him to any after-school activities
• Ensure everything ready for the next day
• Liaise with school as needed

Cooking

• Preparing breakfast and a light lunch for one or both principals
• Preparing fresh, healthy dinner for 2-3 people daily
• Maintaining stock levels and general kitchen inventory,
• Online ordering, receiving food deliveries, sourcing ingredients and fresh, seasonal produce

Household

• Maintain a clean, tidy and organized environment (2-bed, 2-bath)
• Manage online ordering and any returns
• Wardrobe management, including seasonal rotations
• Liaising with any vendors, contractors and trades
• Light exterior care
• Driving (for errands and, occasionally, driving one of the principals)

Housekeeping*

• Laundry and ironing for up to 3 people
• General household cleaning, including vacuuming, mopping, dusting and polishing
• Making beds
• Regular changing of bed linen and towels
• Daily cleaning of bathrooms

*Can be outsourced if necessary. Must be managed effectively by the candidate, who should be happy to step in and help/cover wherever and whenever necessary

• Previous childcare experience (including with a similar age group)
• Valid, clean driver's license and a confident driver (including in snow)
• Computer savvy; comfortable with email, ordering online and using various household apps
• Fluent English speaker
• Even-tempered, calm, positive and friendly
• Willing and able to travel with the family within the U.S.
• Excellent, verifiable references
• Legally authorized to work in the US
• Must be able to flex with the schedule - working longer days and weekends over busier periods, shorter days during quieter times
• Excellent, confident cook, comfortable preparing healthy, fresh and seasonal meals for 3 people
• Reliable, trustworthy and an excellent communicator
• Super discreet, comfortable in a refined, HNW environment, able to read the room well and recognise professional boundaries
• Pitch-in mentality.  Any candidate MUST be happy to step in and help whever needed, be that cleaning, organising, cooking, childcare, driving or supporting with general management of home and busy lives

• From $40/hr gross, DOE
