Overview

A client located on the Upper East Side of New York City is seeking an experienced Part-Time Weekend Housekeeper to assist with maintaining a beautiful 3,000 sq. ft. private residence. The preferred schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 8:00am–6:00pm, although the client is flexible and happy to consider a schedule that works well for the right candidate.

The ideal candidate is an experienced, polished, and professional housekeeper with a strong background in formal private homes. This role will focus on meticulous housekeeping, laundry, ironing, household organization, and maintaining the residence to the highest standards throughout the weekend.

The client is currently focusing on live-out candidates, although a live-in arrangement may be considered for the right person. This is a wonderful opportunity for a dependable, detail-oriented housekeeper seeking a consistent, long-term weekend position.

Responsibilities

● Overall cleaning and upkeep of the 3,000 sq. ft. apartment
● General housekeeping, including vacuuming, dusting, and maintaining all living spaces
● Cleaning and maintaining the kitchen
● Deep cleaning of bathrooms as needed
● Washing, ironing, and changing bed linens
● Making beds and maintaining the guest room
● Laundry with careful attention to fabric care and washing instructions
● Ironing clothing to a high standard
● Maintaining organization of the pantry, closets, and storage areas
● Grocery shopping and light household errands as needed
● Assisting with household inventory, stocking supplies, receiving packages, and coordinating deliveries when necessary
● Ensuring the residence remains clean, organized, and welcoming throughout the weekend

Qualifications

● Honest, trustworthy, and dependable
● Strong work ethic with a proactive attitude
● Excellent housekeeping and organizational skills
● Ability to prepare fresh lunches and simple, healthy meals and follow recipes when needed is highly desirable, but cooking is not a requirement
● Able to read the room, knowing when to engage and when to work independently
● Professional, discreet, and respectful of privacy
● Experience working in a formal private residence is highly preferred
● Flexible and accommodating with a positive, service-oriented attitude
● Comfortable working independently and managing time efficiently
● Seeking a consistent, long-term weekend position

Requirements

● Previous professional housekeeping experience in a formal private home with verifiable references
● Extensive experience with fine laundry, ironing, and garment care
● Strong understanding of proper cleaning methods and caring for fine furnishings
● Comfortable wearing a uniform or black pants with a white blouse
● Strong English communication skills
● Professional demeanor with excellent communication skills
● Reliable availability on weekends
● Ability to commute to the Upper East Side

Salary and Benefits

● Compensation: $50 per hour
