A warm and welcoming family based in Tribeca, NYC is seeking an exceptional, highly experienced full-time Nanny to join their household and care for their two young daughters, born February 2024 and July 2026. The schedule will be Monday through Friday, 7:30am–5:30pm, approximately 47.5 hours per week, with guaranteed hours.
This is a collaborative, shared-care position working alongside an involved stay-at-home mother. The family is looking for an accomplished career nanny who brings a high level of knowledge, initiative and professionalism to their work, while remaining warm, practical and genuinely engaged with family life. They hope to find someone who will become a trusted and valued part of their household for many years, growing with the girls from infancy and toddlerhood through to school age.
Their eldest daughter attends a Montessori preschool and is a bright, curious child with a particular interest in books, early learning and creative activities, as well as swimming and gymnastics. Their younger daughter is currently an infant, so candidates should bring excellent hands-on experience across both the baby and toddler years and be confident supporting evolving feeding, sleep, routines and developmental milestones.
The family takes a thoughtful, evidence-informed approach to parenting and loosely incorporates Montessori and Reggio Emilia principles. They value independence, curiosity, consistency and learning through both play and everyday experiences. They would particularly welcome a nanny who has a strong understanding of Early Years development, takes a genuine intellectual interest in their profession and can thoughtfully build upon the children's individual interests and abilities as they grow.
This role will suit someone exceptionally proactive and organized who instinctively thinks ahead. The successful candidate will be confident taking ownership of their responsibilities, anticipating the needs of the children and household and bringing ideas and solutions rather than waiting for direction. The family employs housekeeping support, so this is not a housekeeping position; however, everyone in the home contributes, and a flexible, practical and genuine can-do mentality is essential.
Cooking is also an important part of the position. The nanny should be a confident and enthusiastic home cook who enjoys preparing fresh, nutritious and varied food for children and is comfortable taking ownership of meal planning, grocery ordering, packed lunches and batch cooking.
The family is interested in candidates with excellent professional Early Years credentials and is open to Norland-trained nannies as well as candidates with Early Childhood Education or Early Years degrees, teaching backgrounds, Montessori training or other substantial childcare qualifications. They are particularly interested in candidates who have intentionally chosen childcare and child development as a long-term profession and can demonstrate an ongoing commitment to developing their knowledge and expertise.
There may be occasional domestic and international travel with the family. The position is available immediately; however, the family is focused on finding an exceptional long-term fit and is prepared to wait for the right person.
The family is offering a comprehensive package and an hourly rate of $40 per hour + overtime (Circa $110,000 per year), depending on experience and qualifications.
