A warm, private family is seeking an experienced full-time, live-out nanny to care for their two young daughters, currently almost 4 months old and almost 2.5 years old, starting asap. This is a wonderful opportunity for a nanny who genuinely loves working with children and is confident caring for an infant and toddler simultaneously. The family has been caring for their daughters themselves and is now looking for a trusted professional to join their household as the mother returns to work. The scheudle will be approximately 8:30/9:00am–5:30/6:00pm Monday through Friday. Some additional hours may occasionally be required and can be discussed in advance. Occasional weekend/date-night coverage would be welcomed but is not essential. A nanny who is open to occasional domestic or international family travel would be a plus.
The primary responsibility will be providing loving, attentive, and developmentally appropriate care for both children, with particular emphasis on the infant's daily care and routines. The older daughter attends a preschool 2s program Tuesday through Thursday from approximately 9:00–11:15 AM. The parents currently manage school drop-off and pick-up, allowing the nanny to have periods during the week with just the baby. The nanny will primarily take over care of both children once the older daughter returns home.
Responsibilities include:
Providing hands-on care for both an infant and toddler
Managing the needs and schedules of two children simultaneously
Feeding, bottle preparation, diapering, nap routines, and other infant care
Supporting the baby's changing developmental needs
Preparing simple meals and snacks for the toddler
Preparing food for the baby as appropriate as she begins solids
Planning age-appropriate activities, play, reading, and outings
Supporting the toddler's development and independence
Transporting children to activities and appointments as needed
Keeping children's spaces organized and tidy
Children's laundry
Maintaining the children's belongings and play areas
Helping maintain consistent routines established by the parents
Communicating openly with the parents about the children's day, routines, development, and any concerns
Taking initiative and using good judgment throughout the day
The family is looking for someone who will adapt to their existing routines and parenting style, rather than coming in with a rigid approach of their own. Flexibility and the ability to work collaboratively with the parents are highly valued.
Meal preparation is straightforward rather than elaborate. The children enjoy simple foods such as fruit, yogurt, pasta, and other age-appropriate meals.
Recent professional infant-care experience is essential — ideally experience within the past three years
Demonstrated experience caring for an infant and toddler simultaneously
Strong knowledge of infant routines, feeding, bottles, sleep, and developmental milestones
Previous experience working with children of similar ages
Experience transporting children to school, activities, appointments, or outings
A genuine passion for working with children and a nurturing approach to childcare
Warm, kind, attentive, and emotionally perceptive
Naturally reserved and able to read the room and adapt to a family's personality and household environment
Flexible and receptive to the family's routines, preferences, and way of doing things
Strong references from previous families
Early childhood education or formal nanny training is welcome but not essential; relevant hands-on experience and the right approach to childcare are more important
The family is looking for someone who views nannying as a career and who is genuinely invested in the children in their care. A candidate who is passionate about childcare, builds meaningful relationships with their charges, and takes pride in their work will be particularly well suited to this role.
Must have recent infant-care experience, including hands-on responsibility for bottles/feeding, naps, diapering, and daily infant routines
Must have experience caring for an infant and toddler at the same time
Must be comfortable managing two young children independently
Driving experience is strongly preferred, particularly experience safely transporting children; the family may consider an exceptional candidate who does not drive
Valid driver's license and clean driving record if driving
Must be fully vaccinated, including current annual flu, Tdap, and MMR vaccinations
Must be comfortable working formally/on the books
Must be reliable, punctual, organized, and communicative
Must be comfortable preparing simple children's meals
Must be willing to handle children's laundry and light child-related tidying
Must provide strong professional references
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
There are no pets in the household and the children do not have any known allergies.
$40–$45/hour, depending on experience and qualifications
40 hours guaranteed per week
Additional hours available as needed and discussed in advance
Healthcare stipend
Paid federal holidays
Potential opportunity for occasional additional weekend/date-night hours
Occasional family travel may be available for a nanny who is interested, including domestic travel and potentially international travel in the future
The family is ultimately looking for a long-term, trusted member of the household — someone who is warm, dependable, experienced, and genuinely passionate about caring for children.
The ideal candidate will bring excellent infant-care knowledge while also being flexible enough to integrate seamlessly into an established family routine. Above all, the family values character, genuine care for children, strong experience, and the ability to work collaboratively over credentials alone.
