A busy professional family with two children, ages 4 and 2, is seeking an experienced Full-Time Lead Housekeeper to take ownership of their 3,000-square-foot home. Both parents have demanding careers and are looking for someone who can provide more than routine housekeeping, they want a professional who can help elevate the overall standard of the home, keep things organized, and stay ahead of the many small details that come with managing a busy household.

The family currently has a full-time nanny and a live-in au pair, so this role will focus primarily on the home. Responsibilities will include cleaning and daily household maintenance, organization, laundry, keeping supplies stocked, and managing miscellaneous household needs. The ideal candidate will naturally notice what needs to be done and take care of it without needing to be asked.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys having ownership of a home and is interested in taking on a broader set of household management responsibilities over time.

Schedule:

• Possible schedules include Monday–Thursday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with a half day Friday and occasional Sunday hours, or Monday – Friday 8:00am-5:00pm (Family is open to discussing the best structure)
• ASAP start

• Take ownership of the overall cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the home
• Maintain bedrooms, common areas, kitchen, and other household spaces
• Manage laundry, including folding and putting clothing and linens away
• Make and maintain beds
• Load and unload the dishwasher
• Take out recycling and manage household waste
• Keep closets, pantry, and refrigerator organized and orderly
• Monitor household supplies and proactively restock as needed
• Stay ahead of miscellaneous household needs such as changing air filters, fridge clean out, replacing lightbulbs, etc.
• Coordinate with maintenance professionals when needed
• Maintain organizational systems throughout the home
• Identify areas where the home could be more efficient, organized, or functional
• Handle occasional household errands and miscellaneous tasks
• Work collaboratively with the family's nanny and au pair
• Provide structure and direction to the au pair when needed
• Communicate with the family about household needs, priorities, and anything that requires attention
• Take on additional household management responsibilities over time as the role evolves

• Private household housekeeping experience
• Experience in a high-end or luxury private home

• Strong communication skills and comfortable with open, two-way communication

• $100,000–$115,000/year DOE
