Overview

A family based in Westchester County, NY is seeking a Family Assistant for two principals and their two young adult children who reside with them part-time. This multifaceted role offers a unique opportunity to act as a trusted assistant to the family while contributing to household operations, culinary and event support, and cabin management on board the family’s private aircraft. The ideal candidate is highly organized, service-minded and adaptable, able to anticipate needs and confidently step into the assistant responsibilities on day one. This position involves regular interaction with the family and household team, occasional light cooking and chef support, event execution, and regular travel with the principals to conduct in-flight service aboard the family’s private aircraft. A warm, down-to-earth personality and a collaborative spirit are essential in this hands-on, high-trust role.   You will bring a passion for creating memorable moments, strong attention to detail, and a creative touch for table settings, food presentation, and floral arrangements. This is a high-touch, principal-facing role on the aircraft and at the residence. This is not a Flight Attendant position. Flight Attendant experience and related safety training are not required in this role. In fact, relevant hospitality and private service experience is highly preferred. Basic training will be provided regarding the use and operation of the aircraft areas related to this role.

Responsibilities

Aircraft In-Flight Service & Travel Support

● Serve as primary cabin attendant on family's private aircraft, responsible for in-flight food & beverage, bedding, amenities, decor, and related coordination.
● Provide warm, elegant, attentive service to the family and guests, anticipating their needs while maintaining a relaxed and unobtrusive manner
● Conduct routine inspections on board and act as a trusted steward of the aircraft and family belongings, demonstrating exceptional care, discretion, and attention to detail at all times
● Maintain all aircraft wares, family belongings, and related inventory for aircraft service
● Own and update documentation and manuals related to on-board service
● Coordinate with the family chef for all travel meals.

 

Assisting the Principals

● Collaborate with House Manager in maintaining pristine organization of the household
● Conduct family errands.
● Drive family locally as needed when family driver is unavailable
● Carry out key duties and priorities in the absence of colleagues on property.

 

Culinary & Event SupportSupport the chef with meal prep for events and flights.

● Select & pick up specialty items from area bakeries and other specialty shops.
● Collaborate on daily assessment of F&B stock options in family kitchens.
● Set tablescapes for family meals.
● Occasionally serve family meals as needed.
● Collaborate with House Manager and Chef  on event planning, execution, and related project management.
● Serve and support at events and family gatherings as needed.

 

What You Bring

● Four (4) year college degree or equivalent
● 4+ years of recent employment in a similar role based in the primary residence of a family. Additionally, experience with aviation hospitality, yachting, and 5-start service environments is highly regarded.
● Warm, hospitality-centric ethos
● Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
● Punctual, highly discreet, excellent etiquette, and very trustworthy. Team player with excellent organizational and communication skills.
● Willingness and ability to step-in for chef and prepare simple, light meals and facilitate meal services as needed
● Must have own transportation. Confident driver with a clean driving license and strong situational awareness.

Schedule

● Full-time, generally Monday–Friday when not traveling, with regular flexibility to work evenings and weekends particularly when the family entertains and during warm-weather seasons.
● Reliable evening and weekend availability and a positive, can-do approach to schedule changes are essential to this role, not occasional accommodations.
● The household staff operates seven days a week, including all holidays, ensuring consistent coverage year-round.
● All team members are appreciated for their adaptability and commitment to being available as needed, including responsiveness on a 24/7 basis in service to the family.

 

Travel

Domestic & international travel is a required, recurring part of this role.

 

Requirements

  • Must be legal to work in the US
  • Four (4) year college degree or equivalent
 

Salary and Benefits

The family is offering a competitive salary of $150K++, to commensurate with experience and qualifications.
