Overview

A caring family in TriBeCa is seeking an experienced Full-Time Nanny to provide care for their young child.

The family is seeking an experienced, career nanny who is looking for a long-term position and has a strong history of longevity with previous families. They value stability, professionalism, and someone who has truly chosen childcare as their career.

The ideal candidate is calm, confident, and highly knowledgeable about child development, with the experience to anticipate needs and adapt as the children grow. They should be proactive and organized while also bringing warmth, playfulness, and genuine enjoyment of children to the role. The family is looking for someone who can become a trusted partner to the parents, offering thoughtful support with routines, developmental milestones, enrichment, feeding transitions, and the evolving needs of each stage.

The general schedule will be Monday through Friday, approximately 8:00 AM–6:00 PM, averaging 45–50 hours per week. Some flexibility for occasional evenings or Saturdays with advance notice is important.

Responsibilities

    • Oversee the child’s day-to-day care, creating a warm, engaging, and well-structured environment as they grow from infancy into toddlerhood.
    • Establish a comfortable rhythm to the day, balancing meals, naps, activities, fresh air, outings, and downtime.

    • Use a strong understanding of early childhood development to recognize emerging skills and thoughtfully encourage each new stage.

    • Plan engaging experiences both inside and outside the home, incorporating books, music, sensory play, classes, neighborhood outings, museums, and opportunities for socialization.

    • Help the family navigate changes in eating and mealtime needs as the child develops.

    • Keep parents well informed about the child’s day, progress, new behaviors, and anything that may require additional attention or adjustment.

    • Take ownership of the child’s spaces and belongings, including laundry, organization, restocking necessities, and keeping things orderly throughout the week.

    • Stay ahead of what the child will need next, from adjusting schedules and activities to preparing clothing, gear, and materials for upcoming developmental stages.

    • Travel with the family during the summer and periodically throughout the year, maintaining familiar routines and providing consistent care while away from home. Previous experience traveling with private families is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

    • Warm, engaging, and nurturing, with a calm and confident approach to caring for young children.

    • Extensive hands-on experience with infants and toddlers and a strong understanding of the routines, milestones, and transitions that come with these early years.

    • A proactive, highly organized working style and the ability to independently manage the child’s day and anticipate what may be needed next.

    • A career nanny with significant professional experience in private homes; 8+ years in the field is preferred.

    • Strong judgment and the confidence to make thoughtful day-to-day decisions while keeping parents informed and involved.

    • A history of building lasting relationships with families and remaining in positions for meaningful periods of time.

    • Comfortable traveling with families and ideally experienced providing childcare during extended or international trips.

    • Able to work collaboratively with parents and adapt as the family’s routines and needs evolve.

    • A background in early childhood development, education, or related training is a plus.

    • Bilingual candidates are especially welcome to apply.

Requirements

    • Comfortable working in a household with a cat.
    • Available to spend time with the family in the Hamptons during the summer and able to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

    • Must hold a valid passport and be comfortable traveling as part of the position.

    • Willing to provide occasional evening or weekend coverage when planned in advance.

    • Must successfully complete a comprehensive background check.

    • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.

Salary and Benefits

    • $35–$45 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
    • Applicable overtime.
    • Health insurance stipend.
    • Paid time off.
    • Additional benefits to be discussed.
