Overview

A young, loving family in Alpine, NJ is seeking an experienced, trustworthy, warm and dynamic English & Spanish speaking ROTA nanny for their 2 children, aged 3.5 years, and 7-months. The position follows a 1-week-on live-in /1-week-off live-out rotation, working opposite the family’s existing ROTA nanny of 2 years, and live-in baby nurse who has sleep trained both children and will leave in 4 weeks. There will be some international travel, especially during the summer, of up to 3-4 weeks, so the nanny must be able to adjust their schedule accordingly. The family is looking to hire right away, but the start date is flexible for the perfect fit. 

Responsibilities

  • All childcare, including maintaining age-appropriate routines for naps, feeding, diapering, hygiene, and daily schedules including the school run (the oldest is in school full time)

  • Plan outings and activities and provide an engaging and stimulating environment

  • Encourage learning, independence, curiosity, and positive social development through meaningful daily interactions

  • Prepare basic child-friendly food if needed (the family has a chef who prepares most meals)

  • Maintain the nurseries and all child-related spaces daily; laundry, clothing, supplies, cleaning and organization (deep cleaning is not required as the family has a housekeeper)

  • Packing and preparing all child-related items for domestic and international travel

Qualifications

  • Comfortable with full-charge, and able to care for two children simultaneously as needed

  • Warm, intuitive, engaging, proactive and committed to being fully engaged with the children 

  • Energetic and willing to play outside as the older child loves being outdoors

  • Enjoys reading books, telling stories and engaging in thoughtful imaginative play 

  • Experience traveling with children 

  • Collaborative and communicative with parents and existing ROTA nanny, providing detailed, seamless handovers between rotations to ensure continuity of care

  • Ability to take direction, but also anticipate and take initiative as needed as the parents work in and out of the home

  • Comfortable working independently in a fully staffed home

Requirements

  • English & Spanish speaking 

  • Previous experience as a ROTA or as a live-in/travel nanny with similar long working hours 

  • Experience with infants and toddlers, and be able to care for multiple ages simultaneously

  • Organized, capable and be able to keep up in a busy but warm, happy home 

  • Discreet, professional, and comfortable working within a private, high-profile household

  • Must hold a clean US driving license and be comfortable driving in the suburbs

  • Must be based in the New York/ New Jersey area

  • Must have US work authorisation and valid passport at all times

  • Comfortable in the water with children 

  • Very limited phone usage during working hours unless communicating with the parents or in an emergency

Salary and Benefits

  • $150,000 DOE
