Overview

A family moving to Irvington, NY, is seeking a full-time live-out housekeeper to join their family.  They are currently living in Armonk, NY, but relocating soon to a newly built home in Irvington, NY.  This is commutable by train from NYC.  The schedule is Monday through Friday, 11am-8pm.  This is 45 hours per week.  This is a hands-on role for someone who takes genuine pride in their work, treats the home and its contents with the utmost care, and can work independently while following the household's established standards and routines.  They are looking for someone who can start by mid-September, if not sooner.  

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the highest standard of cleanliness throughout the home
  • Handle all belongings, furnishings, furniture, and decor with exceptional care, including fine art
  • Develop a proposed cleaning schedule (daily, weekly, and monthly tasks) for the employer's review and approval, and maintain it consistently once approved
  • Proactively identify and address areas that need attention, rather than waiting to be asked
  • Complete weekly grocery shopping, including selecting seasonal, high-quality fruits and vegetables
  • Prepare simple, wholesome dinners for the family (typically for three, occasionally for four)
  • Manage all laundry, including clothing, bedding, and towels
  • Monitor and replenish household supplies as needed
  • Meticulous
  • Highly professional

Requirements

  • Must be legal to work in the US
  • Comfortable cooking simple family-style meals
  • Prior experience working in a high-end, luxury residence, with demonstrated care around fine art, high-value furnishings, and finishes
  • Knowledge of seasonal produce and grocery selection
  • Excellent laundry and garment care skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work methodically and systematically
  • Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
  • Polished, professional appearance and demeanor
  • Strong communication skills and ability to follow detailed instructions
  • Trustworthy, discreet, and reliable

Salary and Benefits

The family is offering $135,000 annual salary.  Benefits include;
