Overview

A loving family living of three living in Sarasota, FL is seeking a full-time housekeeper to join their team.  There is a company that comes in to do the deep cleaning and the bathrooms twice a week.  The housekeeper’s main focus will be laundry and maintaining the home for the couple and their two year old daughter.   There is a nanny for the daughter.  The schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm.  There are two homes next to each other on the property.  The morning is spent in the main residence, tidying up, putting things back where they belong and putting all the laundry away from the prior day.  Afternoon, is spent next door where the laundryroom is set up.  Focus is on laundry for the rest of the day. The position is ready to hire immediately upon finding the right candidate.  This is a live-out position, however the family is happy to help with relocation, if needed.

Responsibilities

Household Cleaning Expectations

This position does NOT need to handle full housekeeping/cleaning.  

There is an existing cleaning team that comes on Monday and Friday and handles:

  • Bathrooms
  • Floors
  • Vacuuming
  • Mopping
  • General deep cleaning
  • Changing linens on designated cleaning days
The goal is to have the primary home remain consistently tidy and organized between the main cleaning days.
 
The housekeeper position would primarily focus on:
  • Laundry
  • Tidying
  • Organization
  • Closet/wardrobe care
  • Putting items away
  • Maintaining day-to-day order
  • Keep the primary residence neat, organized, and orderly.
  • Walk through the home and return items to their proper locations.
  • Maintain general household organization.
  • Keep closets organized.
  • Make sure belongings are properly put away.
  • Identify areas that need organizing before they become problems.
  • Laundry:
  • Take responsibility for the household's laundry.
    • Process laundry efficiently from start to finish.
    • Wash, dry, fold, iron/steam as appropriate.
    • Sort clothing properly according to care instructions.
    • Return clothing to the closets promptly.
    • Avoid inappropriate washing/drying of delicate or expensive pieces.
    • Understand garment-care labels and proper treatment of luxury clothing
    • Handle expensive wardrobe items with a high level of care.
    • Keep laundry moving so there is not a significant delay between clothing being removed from the closet and being returned.
    • Help the chef by laundering kitchen towels, linens, dishes, and providing general support as needed
  • Wardrobe / Closet Management
    • Organize and maintain the family's closets.
    • Properly put away clothing.
    • Keep wardrobes orderly and easy to navigate.
    • Be attentive to high-value and delicate garments.
    • Prevent damage, loss, or improper laundering of expensive clothing.
    • Ideally have prior experience handling luxury wardrobes.
