A warm, Europe-based family is seeking an experienced temporary nanny to help care for their three-year-old daughter and ten-month-old son during an extended stay in New York City.

The family will travel with their two longstanding Spanish-speaking nannies, who are very much part of the family. The additional nanny will work collaboratively with the existing team and provide cover on their days off.

The household is warm, friendly, and relaxed. The children have an established routine, although some flexibility is required as the mother’s schedule may change. The family is looking for someone adaptable and comfortable going with the flow rather than being overly rigid.

• Dates: November 3–December 9
• Schedule: Three days per week
• Hours: Up to 12 hours per day, typically 10:00 a.m.–10:00 p.m.

The family anticipates spending additional time in the United States and would ideally like to develop an ongoing relationship with the same nanny. There may be opportunities for future assignments or a longer-term position, although candidates interested only in the New York placement are welcome to apply.

• Work alongside the family’s existing nannies and provide cover on their days off
• Care for one or both children, depending on the family’s needs
• Research and plan engaging age-appropriate activities throughout New York City
• Organize outings, classes, playdates, and other social opportunities
• Provide educational activities for the eldest child while she is away from school
• Keep the children active and engaged with minimal screen time
• Assist with children’s meals, bath time, bedtime, and daily routines

• Proactive and creative, with excellent knowledge of children’s activities and resources in New York City
• Flexible and able to respond calmly to changes in the day
• Collaborative and comfortable joining an established, close-knit childcare team
• A clear and thoughtful communicator
• Professional, discreet, and respectful of the family’s privacy
• Fluent in English and Spanish strongly preferred, as the children’s current nannies speak to them in Spanish to support their continued learning
• Strong swimmer preferred

• Professional experience caring for infants and preschool-aged children
• Confident caring for both children simultaneously
• Availability for three shifts of up to 12 hours each week, including evenings
• Ability to work the full assignment preferred
• Excellent, verifiable references
• Legal authorization to work in the United States
• Driving is not required, as the family will provide transportation

• $40–$45 per hour, depending on experience
