Overview

A warm and wonderful family in Tribeca is seeking an experienced weekend nanny to provide attentive, engaging care for their four children, ages 18 months, 4½, 7, and 9 (the two older children will be 8 and 10 in the fall). Both parents are actively involved and are seeking a dependable professional who can confidently manage the relaxed weekend routine while ensuring each child's individual needs are met.

The schedule will be Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 7pm September through June. The position follows the family’s travel schedule and includes an unpaid two-month summer break for July and August. 

This is a wonderful opportunity for a nurturing, organized nanny who enjoys caring for multiple children in a relaxed, low-stress household. The family values warmth, consistency, excellent communication, and a genuine understanding of children's social and emotional development.

The ideal candidate will be seeking a long-term position and will become a trusted and consistent presence in their children's lives.

Responsibilities

Include, but are not limited to:

  • Always ensure the safety and well-being of the children.
  • Provide attentive, age-appropriate care for four children, keeping in mind the needs and schedule of the 18-month-old, including naps and daily routines.
  • Plan and facilitate engaging, developmentally appropriate activities for each child.
  • Prepare simple meals and snacks for the children as needed.
  • Assist with dressing, hygiene, and maintaining consistent routines.
  • Coordinate and supervise weekend activities, including recurring sports or birthday parties.
  • Maintain excellent communication with the parents and/or lead nanny, including updates, schedules, and notes using the Notes app.
  • Help ensure the household runs smoothly by staying organized and anticipating the children’s needs

Qualifications

  • Warm, patient, energetic, and emotionally attuned.
  • Strong understanding of childhood social and emotional development.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Able to confidently manage children's differing needs while maintaining a calm and positive environment.
  • Fun, active, and engaging
  • Dependable and trustworthy
  • Works intuitively and adapts easily
  • Team player and self-starter
  • Proactive with excellent judgment 

Requirements

  • Significant professional experience caring for multiple children of varying ages.
  • CPR certified or willing to become certified
  • Experience as a camp counselor, educator, or in similar child-focused roles is a plus.
  • Comfortable around dogs, as the family may welcome a pet in the future.
  • Ability to speak Spanish or Portuguese would be a plus
  • Able to take the months of July and August off without pay
  • Legal to work in the U.S.

Salary and Benefits

The family is offering $50/hr.
