Overview

A busy private household is seeking an organized, proactive, and resourceful Personal Assistant/Household Manager temporarily to support two busy Co-Founders in their Fifth Avenue home and workspace in Manhattan. This unique role blends personal assistant responsibilities with hands-on household management, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in keeping daily life running smoothly.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative and positive environment where no two days are the same. The ideal candidate is highly organized, takes initiative without being asked, and enjoys finding solutions that make life easier for others. This is a three-month temporary position with the potential to become a long-term opportunity for the right candidate.

Schedule

This position guarantees 20 hours per week, with flexibility based on the principals' needs. Most working hours will fall in the afternoons and evenings, with occasional weekend support required. The ideal candidate is dependable, adaptable, and able to respond to requests in a timely manner while maintaining flexibility within their schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day personal assistant support, including running errands, grocery runs, package returns, dry cleaning, household shopping, and restocking supplies.
  • Assist with personal projects of all sizes, including furniture purchases, room setup, research projects, gift purchasing, and other special requests.
  • Maintain organization throughout the home, ensuring common areas remain tidy, functional, and well-presented.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and oversee household vendors, including cleaners, handymen, maintenance professionals, and other service providers.
  • Receive, organize, and manage incoming packages, deliveries, and mail.
  • Prepare guest accommodations prior to arrivals and reset spaces following departures.
  • Assist with planning and executing gatherings and events, including purchasing supplies, coordinating logistics, setup, and post-event cleanup.
  • Anticipate the principals' needs and proactively identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and organization of the household.
  • Manage multiple priorities while maintaining excellent communication, professionalism, and discretion.
  • Provide additional personal assistant and household management support as needed.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is someone who genuinely enjoys supporting busy professionals and creating systems that keep a household operating seamlessly. They are proactive rather than reactive, naturally anticipate needs before being asked, and take pride in providing thoughtful, high-level support. Whether coordinating vendors, preparing for guests, managing special projects, or handling last-minute requests, they approach every task with professionalism, efficiency, and a positive attitude.

Equally important, the principals are seeking someone who is an excellent personality and culture fit. They value flexibility, initiative, strong communication, and a collaborative approach, and are looking for someone who enjoys becoming a trusted extension of their team. No task is too big or too small, and the right candidate will find satisfaction in creating an organized, welcoming, and well-run home.
