Overview

A lovely family in New Smyrna Beach is seeking an experienced, highly organized, proactive, and trustworthy Household Manager and Family Lifestyle Assistant to become an integral part of their daily life. This is a long-term opportunity for someone who enjoys creating order, anticipating needs, solving problems, working with others and collaborate as needed, and helping a busy family thrive. The family is active and values faith, kindness, integrity, hospitality, organization, and quality time together. Their children are homeschooled and participate in Spanish, piano, golf, sports, and other extracurricular activities.

 

The family enjoys traveling and spending time at their homes in North Carolina, Florida, and Utah, and is looking for someone who will become a trusted extension of the family and help create a calm, organized, elevated, and stress-free home environment. Housing will be provided near the primary residence, allowing flexibility to assist at the primary home and while traveling. The ideal candidate is a self starter who takes initiative, maintains the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality, and genuinely enjoys making life easier for others.

 

The schedule is Monday through Friday 7:30/8:00am through 4:00/5:00pm. TBD.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple family homes 
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming household
  • Manage laundry, linens, closets, and wardrobe organization 
  • Organize pantries, storage rooms, garages, seasonal decor, and household spaces 
  • Coordinate cleaning schedules and maintain high household standards 
  • Restock groceries, household supplies, and essentials before they run low
  • Manage household inventory 
  • Coordinate vendors, contractors, maintenance professionals, deliveries, and service appointments
  • Assist with household projects and miscellaneous tasks across multiple properties
  • Create and improve systems that increase organization and efficiency 
  • Prepare healthy, delicious meals several times each week for an active, on the go family 
  • Plan weekly menus around family preferences, nutritional goals, and dietary needs 
  • Grocery shop and keep the kitchen fully stocked 
  • Meal prep breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and grab and go snacks
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen 
  • Learn the family’s routines and proactively anticipate their needs 
  • Manage calendars, appointments, and daily schedules 
  • Coordinate children’s schedules and activities 
  • Make phone calls and communicate with schools, medical offices, contractors, vendors, and service providers 
  • Run errands and assist with personal shopping 
  • Research products, services, and household solutions 
  • Assist with travel planning, itineraries, reservations, and logistics 
  • Prepare homes before arrival and after departure 
  • Take ownership of projects and follow them through to completion Identify ways to simplify daily life and reduce stress for the family 
  • Work independently while providing excellent communication and updates
  • Assist with children’s appointments, activities, and transportation when needed
  • Help coordinate homeschooling schedules and educational activities as appropriate 
  • Provide support wherever needed to keep the household running smoothly 
  • Maintain complete discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality 
  • Assist with veterinary appointments, grooming appointments, feeding, exercise, cat litter, and general care for the family’s large doodle dogs and two cats
  • Prepare homes before arrival and organize and maintain each property while traveling to the family’s homes in North Carolina and occasionally Utah
  • Pack and unpack, coordinate travel logistics, run errands, and assist with projects at the vacation homes

  • Strong organizational and project management skills 
  • Healthy cooking and meal planning experience 
  • Comfortable around large dogs and cats
  • Experience managing multiple homes is preferred
  • Spanish speaking or bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly desirable, as the family’s children are homeschooled and actively learning Spanish

Requirements

  • Private household experience 
  • Valid US work authorization 
  • Strong verifiable references 
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record 
  • Must be flexible and available to travel with the family as needed, including weekdays and weekends, without scheduling conflicts, as travel is an essential part of this position
