Overview

A warm and active family on Davis Island in Tampa is seeking a skilled and experienced Part-Time Laundress to join their household approximately 15 hours per week across two days. The household consists of two adults, a teenager, and three dogs, and the family maintains a high standard of care across their wardrobe, fine garments, and household linens.

Fridays are a set day each week to ensure the household is fully prepared and refreshed heading into the weekend, with the second day falling on either Monday or Wednesday. Hours would ideally begin at 8:00am to align with the existing housekeeper’s schedule, though the family is open to some flexibility there. The family travels frequently and will look to their laundress for support with pre-trip packing and post-travel unpacking as well.

They are currently based on Davis Island and will be transitioning to their townhome in Hyde Park once renovations are complete, with an anticipated move in September 2026. The right candidate will be comfortable making that move alongside the family.

  • All laundry for the household including bedding, household linens, and clothing for two adults and a teenager, from general laundry to fine and delicate garments

  • Sorting and organizing bed linens

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be efficient, detail oriented, a team player who is comfortable working alongside other household staff, and someone who takes genuine pride in the quality of their work. They should be able to take feedback well and work independently within a private home environment.

Requirements

  • Extensive hands-on experience in garment and laundry care, including a solid understanding of fabric types and proper care methods including silk, leather, fine linens, and couture pieces
  • Excellent at folding neatly, ironing, pressing, and maintaining organized closets and drawers
  • Prior experience with couture garment care strongly preferred
  • Comfortable working in a home with dogs
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Legal to work in the US
