Overview

A warm, professional family in New York City is seeking an experienced Housekeeper to join their household team. This is a fully staffed residence with assistants, drivers, security personnel, chefs, administrative staff, property staff, and personal assistants. This role will work alongside another Housekeeper and report directly to the Estate Manager.

The home operates in a collaborative, team-oriented environment with clear communication, mutual respect, and a strong emphasis on professionalism.

The family is seeking a proactive, highly organized, and detail-oriented housekeeper. The ideal candidate is flexible, adaptable to changing priorities, comfortable around pets, and capable of maintaining exceptional standards while working collaboratively with an established team.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

Responsibilities

Housekeeping & Household Maintenance

  • Daily cleaning and maintenance of an 8,000-square-foot residence
  • Detailed cleaning of bedrooms, bathrooms, offices, guest spaces, kitchens, and common areas
  • Deep cleaning and seasonal household projects
  • Bed making, linen changes, and ironing of sheets and household linens
  • Guest room preparation and turnover when visitors are in residence
  • Maintain organization throughout all household spaces
  • Ensure household standards are met 

Laundry & Wardrobe Care

  • Daily family laundry
  • Ironing and pressing of clothing, linens, and bedding
  • Proper care of specialty fabrics and garments
  • Knowledge of appropriate washing, drying, steaming, and fabric-care techniques
  • Closet and wardrobe organization

Pet Care Support

  • Daily support for three small dogs
  • Feeding and watering pets
  • Managing indoor pee pads and pet-related cleanup
  • Assisting with coordination of dog walkers
  • Maintaining pet supplies and inventory

Household Operations

  • Monitor household inventory and supplies
  • Maintain pantry organization and cleanliness
  • Check expiration dates of medications, vitamins, and household items
  • Assist with household errands as needed
  • Proactively identify maintenance or household needs
  • Assist with occasional event preparation and cleanup
  • Support the household during holiday gatherings and special occasions

Team Collaboration

  • Work alongside another Executive Housekeeper as an equal member of the housekeeping team
  • Report directly to the Estate Manager
  • Communicate professionally with principals and household staff
  • Adapt to changing household priorities and last-minute requests
  • Maintain discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of private household housekeeping experience
  • Previous experience in a fully staffed residences required with strong verifiable references 
  • Strong laundry and fabric-care knowledge
  • Experience with ironing and garment care
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage changing responsibilities
  • Comfortable working around pets
  • Team-oriented mindset
  • Professional, respectful communication style
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Comfortable receiving direction while remaining proactive
  • Cooking experience is a plus but not required

Requirements

  • Fluent English communication skills
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Experience working in private homes with high standards
  • Comfortable with a uniformed position
  • Comfortable following established household protocols and chain of command
  • Physically able to perform all housekeeping duties
  • Available for occasional schedule flexibility for events or special household needs. This may include occasional travel to another property when there are large events

Salary and Benefits

  • $91,000-$102,000($40–$45/hour)
  • Overtime paid at time-and-a-half
