Overview

A warm, highly accomplished, intellectually engaged Washington, D.C. family is seeking an exceptional full-time Career Nanny / Family Assistant to support their two active school-aged boys. The family has enjoyed wonderful long-term relationships with previous caregivers, including one beloved nanny who has remained with them for over 11 years in an evolving household support role. They deeply value longevity, professionalism, direct communication, and a true partnership dynamic with household staff. This is a long-term opportunity for a confident, experienced, emotionally grounded career nanny who genuinely wants to grow with a family and become a trusted, steady presence in the children's lives. The ideal candidate will be established in their career and personal life, emotionally mature, highly dependable, and looking for a long-term professional home rather than a temporary position. Both parents have demanding, high-profile, public-facing careers, and the household operates around an academic semester schedule. While the family is highly organized and communicative, the ideal candidate will be comfortable with occasional schedule fluctuations and the flexibility that comes with supporting a busy professional family. Both parents are highly involved in their children's lives and spend as much time with them as possible. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working alongside hands-on parents and naturally pivoting to other productive tasks when a parent steps in for one-on-one time with the children.

Children:
The family has two kind, bright, and active boys, approximately ages 7 and 12, who are heavily involved in sports, school activities, and extracurricular programs. One child has well-managed ADHD, making consistency, structure, calm communication, and emotional steadiness especially important. The family is seeking someone who can provide dependable routines while bringing warmth, patience, and positivity to the role. The ideal candidate will genuinely enjoy working with energetic school-aged children and have the physical stamina to keep up with an active lifestyle that includes sports, outdoor activities, and busy schedules.

Travel

Travel is required. The family travels frequently during school breaks and throughout the summer, often spending portions of June and much of July and August away from Washington, D.C. Travel may include both domestic and international destinations. During the academic year, the position is primarily Washington, D.C. -based, with occasional travel to cities such as New York, Chicago, Miami, and Los Angeles. The ideal candidate will be comfortable traveling domestically and internationally, adjusting to changing schedules and time zones, and embracing the flexibility that naturally comes with family travel. Accommodations, travel expenses, and meals will be provided while traveling. Relocation candidates are welcome; however, applicants should be genuinely committed to relocating to Washington, D.C. and comfortable establishing themselves independently in a new city.

Start Date: Ideally mid-to-late August 2026
