Overview

A loving family living in a rural area of Central Pennsylvania is seeking two live-in housekeepers. The home is 25,000 square feet on a large property. The schedule varies seasonally. This is a seasonally intensive position, with summers being the family's busiest period and requiring a high degree of flexibility. During these months, the candidate should expect to provide support on weekends, holidays, during family gatherings, and at special events while the family is in residence. When the family is traveling, there may be periods of reduced activity. During the fall and winter months, the schedule is expected to be more structured, likely resembling a traditional weekday schedule, with additional support needed during holidays and special occasions. The ideal candidate will be adaptable and comfortable with the ebb and flow of the family's seasonal lifestyle. At least one of the two candidates should be comfortable providing childcare help. The role is ready to hire and can be flexible on a start date, and the family is looking for a candidate seeking longevity.

Responsibilities

Household Responsibilities:

  • Working as a team to maintain a guest-ready home
  • Assisting with household organization
  • Luxury hospitality standards
  • Meticulous housekeeping
  • Light meal preparation and/or cooking
  • Support during family gatherings and holidays
  • Driving between the principals' two residences and their son's residence, as needed.

 

Childcare Responsibilities:

  • At least one of the two housekeepers should have childcare experience to assist their son and daughter-in-law, who have twin nine-month-old boys.  
  • Meal prep/cook for the children, when needed

 

Note: The focus of the role may shift seasonally between household support and childcare depending on the family's needs and schedule.

 

Live-In Accommodations:  The family is currently converting an apartment within the home into dedicated staff accommodations.

Requirements

  • Must be legal to work in the US
  • Clean and valid driver's license
  • Prior live-in experience as a housekeeper
  • At least one candidate should have childcare experience
  • Comfortable swimming and being in a pool.
  • Teaching or assisting with swimming lessons would be a plus.
  • Comfortable living a quieter lifestyle in a rural area
  • Candidate should be current on routine recommended vaccinations, COVID-19 is not required
  • Infant care experience is strongly preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications - can be obtained if needed
  • The family would also value a candidate who is nurturing, professional, discreet, family-oriented, and comfortable working in a UHNW household environment.
