Overview

A kind and worldly family in the Bernal Heights neighborhood of San Francisco is seeking a part-time child friendly housekeeper/family assistant. The position has a flexible start date but ideally asap. The position will be approximately 3 days per week, 15 hours per week though there is quite a bit of flexibility for the right candidate if open to cooking or childcare duties. The family is anticipating one day for deep cleaning, one day for tidying/organizing/maintenance, and one day for errands. 

Responsibilities

  • Deep cleaning as needed (4-bedroom, 2500 sq ft home)
  • Family laundry 
  • Making beds 
  • General tidying up in common areas 
  • Keep the kitchen tidy, including loading and unloading the dishwasher and taking out the trash
  • Maintaining organization/figuring out new systems when needed 
  • If someone enjoys cooking, extra hours can be added for meal prep and cooking
  • Making sure that everything is in stock (paper towels, toilet paper, soap, etc)
  • Ordering groceries 
  • Errands including: dry cleaning, returning packages, etc.
  • Managing repairs/mall house projects (finding vendors and tradesmen as needed)
  • Occasional evening babysitting of one sweet preschooler 
  • School pick-up if needed 

Qualifications

  • Driving ideal but not required
  • Detail oriented
  • Ideal to have contacts/network already but not essential as long as the candidate can research options 
  • Pitch-in attitude and a proactive and positive personality

Requirements

  • Experience working in private homes 
  • Legally able to work in the US

Salary and Benefits

$45-65 per hour with benefits to be discussed depending on how many hours per week
