Overview

A lovely family of three in Brooklyn is seeking a fantastic daytime Newborn Care Specialist to care for their infant daughter, born in April. The schedule for this role will be Monday through Friday, 8am-4pm, but the family is happy to have the NCS work weekends as well if they desire. The family lives in a 4th floor brownstone, so candidates must be comfortable with stairs, though all of the baby supplies (stroller, etc.) are stored on the first floor. There is a lot of flexibility in the length of contract- the family is open to someone amazing who is only available for a month or two, or they are happy to do a longer (4-7) month contract. This position starts ASAP!  

Responsibilities

  • Handle all infant care, including managing sleep and feeding schedules
  • Wash bottles and sanitizing toys 
  • Keep baby spaces organized and tidy
  • Monitor nursery inventory and working with parents to maintain supplies 
  • Communicating with first-time parents about milestones and development
  • Provide expertise and recommendations, while also working as a team with parents and night NCS

Qualifications

  • Knowledgeable about infant development
  • Warm, kind, and loving 
  • Professional and communicative
  • Able to work around a WFH parent
  • Adaptable and flexible- able to educate but also collaborate, with an understanding that there many different ways to get to the same goal

Requirements

  • US work authorization
  • At least 5 years of experience as an NCS
  • Excellent communicator
  • CPR/First Aid certified
  • Up-to-date on infant vaccines including TDap, flu, and Covid
  • Excellent verifiable references
  • Must live locally to NYC as this is a live out role

Salary and Benefits

  • $500-600+/day for 8 hour shift, $50-60+/hr.
