Overview

A family on the UES is seeking a top-notch nanny for their 2 young children ages 3-years-old and 5-months-old. The role is full-time and live-out. The schedule is Monday through Thursday 8am-6pm (40 hours) with an option to work Fridays 8am-1pm (and at times, nanny may be requested to work this day/hours so must have flexibility to at least work this day on occasion and overtime will be paid). The role begins August 3rd but they do have some flexibility. The parents have flexible work schedules and may occasionally work from home. They are looking for a nanny who is comfortable working independently and taking ownership of the children’s daily routine while collaborating with involved parents. They value a low tech home. No AirPods or excessive phone use during work hours. No screen-time for the children. Phone use while working will be solely for personal emergency or to communicate with parents.

Responsibilities

  • All child-related care
  • Planning engaging, developmentally appropriate activities and outings
  • Preparing healthy meals and snacks
  • Children’s laundry
  • Maintaining organization of the children’s bedrooms, play areas, clothing, toys, and supplies
  • Transporting the children to classes and playdates
  • Supporting consistent routines and sleep schedules
  • Communicating regularly with parents regarding care and well being.
    Travel may be requested but not at all a requirement. They have sitters that travel regularly with them already.

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have recent full-time nanny experience of at least 2 or more young children
  • Highly organized
  • Communicative, yet discreet and not over-sharing but understanding professional boundaries as well
  • Playful
  • A genuine love for children

Salary and Benefits

  • $38–42/hour, based on experience. Overtime rate: $57–63/hour
  • Healthcare stipend of $250 biweekly ($500 monthly)
  • 2 weeks paid vacation

  • 40 hours of paid sick leave (in accordance with New York law)
