Overview

A warm and busy family in Chelsea is seeking a proactive, energetic, and organized Nanny/Housekeeper to assist with the care of their two school-age daughters, ages 6.5 and 11. This is a live-out, Monday through Friday role with a schedule of 12pm–8pm. The ideal candidate is upbeat, dependable, and able to balance childcare, household support, and coordination of the children’s busy schedules.

The family is looking for someone with “pep-in-the-step” energy who genuinely enjoys engaging with school-age children, while also being compassionate, communicative, and appropriately firm when needed. A team-player mentality and strong communication with parents are extremely important in this role.

Responsibilities

  • School pick-ups and transportation/coordination of after-school activities
  • Children’s laundry and keeping children’s rooms tidy and organized
  • General housekeeping and upkeep of common areas
  • Meal prep for the children, including weekday dinners and occasional dinners for mom and children together
  • Preparing packed lunches for school as needed
  • Assisting with organization of children’s rooms, closets, and kitchen areas
  • Running occasional errands such as purchasing birthday gifts or small household items
  • Maintaining smooth afternoon and evening routines for the children

Qualifications

  • Experience working with school-age children
  • Warm, funny, engaging personality with the ability to set boundaries when necessary
  • Highly punctual, organized, and dependable
  • Comfortable collaborating and communicating regularly with parents
  • Comfortable navigating NYC public transportation/subway system
  • Swimming and driving skills are a plus
  • Flexible and travel-friendly personality preferred

Salary and Benefits

  • $35–$40/hour DOE
  • Medical stipend provided
  • 2 weeks paid vacation
  • Family prefers fully vaccinated candidates, though COVID vaccination status is not a deal-breaker
