Overview

A caring daughter is seeking a full-time nurse/caregiver to care for her 90-year-old mother. They are based in Monaco/Beausoleil. Her mother has arthritis and is therefore unable to tend to her own personal hygiene, she also has early-stage vascular dementia.

 

The candidate must be fluent in English and have knowledge of the French language.

 

This is a live-out position and the schedule will be Monday through Friday 9am-5pm, with weekend half days or full days on an as needed basis - though this will rarely be required.

 

The patients daughter works from home, and will be around if needed.

 

The ideal candidate will be patient and have a gentle personality. Trustworthy, honest, and a discreet individual.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provision of 1-on-1 Care:
    • Act as a friendly and supportive companion
    • Engage in meaningful daily interactions such as reading, playing board games, and other activities to foster a sense of companionship and well-being
    • Ensure she feels respected, supported, and comfortable in her own home.
  • Personal Care:
    • Assist with comprehensive personal care, including hygiene, dressing, and grooming.
    • Provide mobility assistance, including expertise in transfers, while maintaining her dignity and privacy.
  • Clinical Monitoring:
    • Conduct regular clinical monitoring, including blood pressure checks three (3) times daily.
    • Monitor her health and promptly report any concerns or changes to the designated family member or Employer.
  • Daily Engagement:
    • Facilitate daily engagement through conversation, reading, and interactive activities to stimulate mental and emotional well-being.
  • Light Housekeeping and Meal Service:
    • Perform light housekeeping duties, such as tidying her room.
    • Prepare and serve meals as per the Employer’s dietary requirements and preferences. (Meals are prepared by the Daughter, so the employee will just heat up the lunch and/or dinner. But breakfast is basically scrambled eggs and yogurt)
  • Health and Safety:
    • Ensure a safe and healthy environment for both the mother and yourself.
    • Follow all safety protocols and report any hazards, health concerns, or emergencies promptly.

Qualifications

The Employee must meet the following requirements to ensure effective care delivery:

  • The Private Nurse/Caregiver must maintain a clean and professional personal lifestyle to ensure they are prepared to work in a home environment where the health and wellness of the patient are of critical importance. The candidate cannot bring personal issues, unclean habits, or pest-related concerns into the patient’s home. Maintaining the highest standard of hygiene, cleanliness, and professionalism is essential for this role.
  • Additional Notes:
  • The home environment must remain free of contamination or external health risks.
  • Candidates must have a proven track record of maintaining a clean and orderly personal and professional life.
  • The position requires strict adherence to cleanliness protocols and respect for the patient’s environment.
  • Professional Expertise:
  • Proven experience in nursing, first aid, and mobility assistance (transfer expertise is essential), with a strong emphasis on transfer expertise.
  • Specialized knowledge in vascular dementia and arthritis care is required.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English is mandatory (proficiency in French is an advantage).

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate discretion at all times.

Requirements

The Employee must possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum of 5-years working in this field
  • Hold a relevant Diploma in Nursing, Caregiving, or Nursing Assistant certification.
  • Demonstrate extensive experience in a similar role, either within a private household or a clinical setting.
  • Specific expertise in managing early-stage vascular dementia and arthritis is essential.

Salary and Benefits

  • €2400 per month if only working Monday through Friday
  • €2600 per month if able to work Monday through Friday and the weekend schedule on as needed basis, (as it is not a constant requirement.)
