The Priorities: 70% Family Support/30% Household
1. Supporting the "Lead" (Mom & Twins)
Mom is the captain of baby care. You are her dedicated assistant:
- Tandem Nursing "Pit Crew": Mom tandem breast-feeds throughout the day. You’ll proactively prep her station (pillows, water, organic snacks, pre-feed diaper changes) and assist with positioning the babies.
- Responsive Care: You’ll assist with diapering, soothing, and burping at Mom’s direction, ensuring she has the extra hands she needs exactly when she needs them.
- The WFH Bridge: Dad works from home and stays connected. You keep the household logistics (laundry, dishes, cooking) managed so that when Dad steps out of his office, he can focus on quality time with the twins and Mom.
2. Proactive Household Ownership
While you take direction on the babies, we want you to own the household engine without being asked:
- Healthy/Organic Cooking: Prepare simple, nutrient-dense lunches and dinners for the parents.
- The "Baby Engine": Handle baby laundry, sterilize bottles and pump parts for the evening, and ensure all diaper stations are cleaned, sorted, and restocked.
- Clean-As-You-Go: Manage the dishes, kitchen tidying, and general organization of common areas.
3. The "Pup Partner" (Supporting the First Baby)
Our dog is a central part of our family. We want to ensure he feels included and loved:
- Cuddles & Connection: Proactively provide the dog with extra affection and attention throughout the day.
- The Collaborative Walk/Feed: You will always check in with Mom before feeding or walking the dog. If Mom needs a "brain break," she may want to take him for a walk while you watch the twins with Dad; you will join the afternoon walk (dog and twins/pram & pup chariot).
The Witching Hour & The 7pm "Success Set-Up."
The late afternoon (4pm–7pm) is "Witching Hour." Your goal is to lower the household "temperature":
- Sensory Reset: Proactively dim lights and start white noise at 4:30 PM.
- Evening Prep: Before you leave at 7:00 PM, the 8:30 PM bottles are prepped, the parents' dinner is plated, and the nursery is "Night Nanny Ready" (for the 9 PM service).
- Date Night Potential: Eventually, as a rhythm is established, you may hold the fort for a quick 60–90 minute local dinner for Mom and Dad.
