A private family with a 9-month old is seeking an exceptional career nanny with infant care experience to work a rotational schedule - one week on/ one week off - alongside another ROTA nanny. This is a long-term opportunity for a caregiver who wants to grow alongside a family and evolve with the role as the child and family develop. BAHS placed an exceptional newborn care specialist with the family and the baby is reliably sleeping through the night.
This role will be primarily live-in to start (while on duty), and live out when off-duty, with the potential to transition to fully live-out or a hybrid arrangement as the child grows and the family's needs evolve. Candidates who are local to NYC are therefore preferred.
The family is looking for a caregiver who combines the structure, confidence, and technical expertise needed to care for an infant with the warmth, joyfulness, attunement, and intentionality of a truly high-caliber nanny. The ideal candidate operates with kindness, professionalism, intelligence, discretion, excellent judgment, and a calm, positive presence. The ideal candidate brings deep child development expertise, calm confidence in their approach, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with highly engaged and caring parents.
Primary responsibilities:
Provide attentive, developmentally appropriate care for the 9-month-old, including daytime care and occasional overnight support as needed.
Plan, prepare, and serve age-appropriate solid meals, with attention to nutrition, quality, safety, and the child's evolving needs.
Prepare and manage bottles and bottle feedings with close attention to hygiene, routine, and the child’s feed schedule.
Establish, maintain, and thoughtfully adjust age-appropriate routines and schedules in partnership with the parents.
Design and oversee developmentally intentional play, activities, and learning experiences aligned with the child’s stage and interests, and recommend age appropriate toys.
Confidently and independently take the child on outings, including walks, parks, appointments, and age-appropriate classes or activities.
Manage all child-related laundry, organization, and playroom upkeep with a high standard of order and care.
Travel with the family as needed, overseeing preparation and packing for the child and ensuring continuity of care and routines across locations.
Provide light household support in a mother’s-helper capacity, including small errands related to the child (e.g., opening packages, organizing baby items, preparing supplies).
Proactively prepare routines, environments, and materials while remaining comfortable stepping back and allowing parents to take the lead when desired.
Support the child through sleep regressions, schedule changes, developmental milestones, and transitions with calm, informed, and consistent care.
Communicate clearly and thoughtfully with parents regarding observations, progress, and recommendations, exercising sound judgment and discretion

Clear, thoughtful communicator with a strong sense of teamwork, professionalism, and discretion.
