Overview

A warm and welcoming family seek a wonderful, experienced nanny for their gorgeous toddler while they vacation in the South of France this summer.  The role will commence 22nd June and will finish 12th July.  Hours will vary, but expect a transitional period at the start while he adjusts to the new time-zone, followed by a couple of weeks of roughly 10hrs per day.  The successful candidate will have their own room in the villa but will likely share a bathroom with the toddler.

Responsibilities

The nanny will be responsible for an almost 2-year-old. Responsibilities are very much focused on the child and will include:

  • All daily care for a toddler
  • Planning fun activities and trips in the local area, and accompanying him at all times
  • Some menu planning and preparing fresh, healthy meals for him (he has an allergy to shellfish, so heightened vigilance around this and potential cross-contamination is essential)
  • Ensuring his room and toys are neat and properly arranged
  • Laundry and preparing his clothes
  • Tag-teaming with parents, with a mix of sole and shared care
  • Some evening baby-sitting

Requirements

  • Native English speaker
  • Fluent/very confident in French, able to navigate the local amenities and area comfortably
  • Extensive experience with toddlers
  • Up-to-date paediatric First Aid/CPR and a current DBS/European background check
  • Confident swimmer
  • Confident, safe driver with clean licence
  • Lovely warm, fun and active personality with a pitch-in approach
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to accommodate changing plans and/or last minute suggestions
  • Excellent communicator, and able to 'read the room'
