Overview

A warm and busy professional family in Austin is seeking a talented private chef to support their household with consistent, high-quality meal preparation. The family consists of two working parents (both physicians) and their infant son. With demanding schedules, they are looking for a chef who can simplify their routine and support a more health-conscious lifestyle through thoughtful, prepared meals.

  • Approximately 1–2 days per week (flexible based on chef’s structure)
  • Flexible between:
    • In-home cooking, or
    • Prepared meal drop-off service

Responsibilities

  • Prepare lunches and dinners for the week
  • Develop healthy, balanced meal plans aligned with client goals
  • Support calorie counting / macro-conscious eating
  • Grocery shop for all required ingredients
  • Maintain organization of pantry and refrigerator (as it relates to meal prep)
  • Option to assist with additional grocery items (e.g., breakfast staples)
  • Maintain a clean, organized kitchen before departure

Qualifications

  • Experience with a variety of cuisines, including Indian, Italian, Mexican, Korean, and Chinese
  • Ability to create diverse, flavorful weekly menus
  • Experience preparing meals in a format that is easy to store and reheat
  • Comfortable advising on optimal prep structure and cadence

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Private Chef or Meal Prep Chef
  • Strong knowledge of health-focused, balanced cooking
  • Ability to tailor meals to client preferences (family avoids beef)
  • Highly organized and efficient with meal prep systems
  • Able to work independently and take initiative

Salary and Benefits

  • Day rate structure,starting at $500+/day, depending on experience
  • Grocery expenses reimbursed
  • Final compensation dependent on experience and service model
