A lovely family based in Greenwich Village, Manhattan is seeking a superlative, warm, engaging and nurturing nanny for their 9-month-old son. The schedule is full-time Monday through Friday 8am-7pm in general, but potential for less hours on Mondays and Fridays if this is preferred. The role can be live-in or live-out. The parents are hands-on and the Mother loves to be involved with decisions involving the baby so must be a wonderful collaborator and view this role as a professional partnership for the overall thriving care for a sweet, curious baby. The candidate to hire must be active, open, honest, energetic, organized, and kind. The right fit for this role is a nanny who is adventurous and enjoys child-friendly Manhattan exploration and getting the little one engaged with and active in things for his overall well-being & development. There are no pets in the home. The role starts as soon as a wonderful fit is found.
• Ensuring baby's safety, health, and happiness at all times
• Actively nurturing and engaging the child in educational, developmental, and fun age-appropriate activities that encourage his physical and mental growth
• Supporting the achievement of age-appropriate milestones (e.g. mealtime, socialization, potty training, learning to read, walking, etc.)
• Taking the child to classes, the park, on walks, arranging playdates, reading, and indoor & outdoor play
• Diaper changes
• Maintaining the child’s nap, eating, and play schedules
• Feeding, meal preparation, and cooking for the child
• Notifying parents when child-related items need to be restocked, clothes are too small, etc.
• Keeping the child’s spaces clean and tidy (putting away/wiping down toys, cleaning bottles, dishes, and the kitchen after baby’s mealtime, tidying his room, keeping the stroller/diaper bag organized and well-stocked). They have a full-time housekeeper, so the role won’t involve cleaning per se or any baby laundry.
• Flexible and able to stay longer as needed I.E., babysit at night or on weekends
• Keeping a log/report of his schedule (feeding, naps, etc.)
• Occasionally bathing and bedtime as needed I.E., if parents are out that night
• Open to occasional travel or overnights as needed; they have a home in East Hampton so there may be some time spent out there
