Overview

British American Household Staffing (BAHS) is seeking an experienced and intuitive Placement Specialist to join our close-knit, highly collaborative team. This is a fully remote role for someone who thrives with autonomy, understands the private service world from the inside out, has experience working with high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) individuals, and takes real pride in making thoughtful, long-term matches.

This role is not entry-level and is not a fit for someone learning the domestic staffing space. To be considered, candidates must have at least 5 years of experience working in a private household and/or directly supporting HNW/UHNW individuals, and prior experience facilitating hires for principals and/or in an agency environment. This is essential for success in the role. We are looking for someone who truly understands both our clients and our candidates because they have lived it.

At BAHS, Placement Specialists operate as trusted consultants. You will manage high-touch relationships, handle multiple active searches simultaneously, and represent the agency with discretion, warmth, and sound judgment.

This is a fully remote role, and you must be available to work a flexible full-time schedule. Occasional availability in the evenings or on weekends is needed to support urgent client needs or accommodate international time zones. This role will also involve supporting and developing business across the UK and Europe, including select markets such as Switzerland.

This role is ideally suited for candidates based in the UK or Europe, with a strong understanding of the UK and European private staffing markets. Familiarity with regional hiring practices, candidate expectations, and cultural nuances across these markets is highly preferred. Candidates should be comfortable engaging directly with clients and, where appropriate, meeting in person.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for private household roles, from intake through placement
  • Partner closely with clients to understand household dynamics, priorities, and hiring expectations
  • Source, vet, interview, and present high-caliber candidates across a variety of domestic roles
  • Coordinate interviews, trials, feedback, and offer negotiations with professionalism and care
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for both clients and candidates throughout the process
  • Maintain accurate, organized records within our Applicant Tracking System
  • Stay informed on market trends, compensation benchmarks, and industry compliance standards
  • Meet regularly with your manager to review active searches, discuss challenges, and flag potential risks early
  • Contribute ideas to improve internal processes and support a collaborative, team environment
  • Step in to support colleagues and other departments when needed
  • Actively contribute to the growth of BAHS in the UK and European markets by identifying opportunities for expansion, building local networks, and strengthening brand presence
  • Support marketing efforts by sharing market insights, contributing to candidate outreach strategies, and assisting with regionally relevant content or initiatives
  • Partner with internal leadership on talent acquisition strategies specific to UK/EU markets, including identifying gaps, trends, and opportunities for growth
  • Navigate varying employment structures, right-to-work requirements, and regional hiring norms across the UK and Europe

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in or closely with a domestic staffing agency is strongly preferred
  • Degree preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and thoughtfully
  • Emotionally intelligent and culturally aware, with strong judgment and discretion
  • Comfortable working with ultra-high-net-worth clients and senior-level candidates
  • Highly tech-savvy and confident using cloud-based tools, CRMs, and applicant tracking systems
  • Self-directed and organized, with the ability to manage 20+ searches at once
  • Highly responsive and able to operate with a strong sense of urgency when required
  • Calm under pressure and comfortable navigating shifting priorities
  • Motivated by goals and outcomes, without losing sight of quality and fit
  • Comfortable working with high expectations, and able to handle tough conversations with confidence and composure
  • Strong understanding of the UK and European domestic staffing landscape, including candidate expectations, compensation norms, and hiring practices
  • Experience building candidate pipelines or contributing to business development, market growth, or brand awareness initiatives is a plus

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of experience working in a private household and/or directly supporting HNW/UHNW individuals
  • Prior experience facilitating hires for a principal and/or company
  • Reliable high-speed internet and a dedicated home workspace
  • Authorization to work in the UK
  • Willingness to handle highly confidential information and operate with a high level of discretion (NDA required)
  • Comfortable working within a performance-driven commission structure where performance drives total earnings
  • Flexibility and resilience in a fast-paced, often unpredictable industry

Salary and Benefits

  • Earning potential will vary based on performance and placements. The first year is typically focused on building a client and candidate base, with earnings increasing over time.
  • Flexible remote schedule
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Benefits will be discussed during the interview process
