Overview

A busy, professional family is seeking an experienced, proactive Nanny / Family Assistant to support their two school-aged children and help maintain the day-to-day flow of their household. The family is moving into a newly built home this summer and is looking for someone who can seamlessly step into a dynamic environment, take initiative, and become a trusted extension of the family.

 

Both parents work in the city, and the children (4 & 6 years old) attend school full-time nearby. The ideal candidate is highly organized, calm, and capable of balancing childcare responsibilities with household and family assistant duties during school hours. The family values someone who is thoughtful, proactive, and naturally keeps a home running smoothly and peacefully.

 

Schedule 

 

Monday–Friday, approximately 7:30am–6:30pm

Hire in June, start date in July

 

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with morning routines and preparing children for school
  • School drop-offs and pick-ups (schools located close to the home)
  • Full child-related care including light meal prep, laundry, tidying, and organization
  • Assisting with children’s schedules, playdates, and activities
  • Transitioning into a Family Assistant / Household Manager role during school hours
  • Running errands, grocery shopping, and household provisioning
  • Prepare simple meals/snacks for the children
  • Maintaining tidiness throughout high-traffic areas including kitchen and living spaces
  • General household upkeep
  • Helping keep household inventory stocked and proactively identifying household needs
  • Communicating with parents regularly regarding errands, schedules, and household updates
  • Help plan playdates, activties, etc. 
  • Letting the family’s dog out and occasional short walks is a plus 

Qualifications

  • Calm, warm, and professional personality
  • Self-starter who enjoys creating structure and helping a home run smoothly
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with busy parents
  • Comfortable managing schedules, appointments, calendars, and children’s activities

Requirements

  • Prior experience in both nanny and family assistant/household management roles
  • Highly organized and proactive with strong common sense
  • Comfortable independently managing household tasks and anticipating needs
  • Valid driver’s license and confident driving ability

Salary and Benefits

  • $40–$45/hour DOE
  • PTO, paid holidays, and sick days offered
  • Healthcare contribution negotiable for the right candidate
