Overview

A family living in Paris is seeking a dynamic and experienced Educator/Caregiver to join their family and play a pivotal role in the social and emotional development of their three young children (9-year-old triplets). This position requires a dedicated individual who is passionate about fostering positive social interactions, encouraging learning, and creating a nurturing and engaging environment. The candidate would report directly to the lead educator. This is a full-time, live-out position.

 

Responsibilities

Social Engagement: 

  • Facilitate and supervise playdates, birthday parties, and other social events. Help the children navigate social situations and build friendships with their peers. 
  • Encourage participation in school & community activities and events. 
  •  

Educational Support: 

  • Plan and implement age-appropriate learning activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development. 
  • Assist with homework and reinforce school curriculum as needed. 
  • Take inventory and restock school and art supplies, as well as educational materials. 

 

Outdoor Activities: 

  • Spend time outdoors daily, engaging the children in active play, nature exploration, and other outdoor activities. 
  • Supervise outdoor play while encouraging independent exploration and risk-taking within safe boundaries. 

 

School & Extracurricular Activities: 

  • Ensure school bags are packed with necessary supplies, completed homework, and any required forms.
  • Coordinate and transport children to extracurricular activities, such as sports, music lessons, and clubs. 
  • Support and encourage children's interests and talents. 

 

Social and Emotional Skills: 

  • Model and teach positive social skills, such as sharing, taking turns, and resolving conflicts peacefully. 
  • Foster empathy, kindness, and respect for others. 
  • Help the children develop strong communication skills, including introductions, greetings, and polite conversation.
  • Guide and instruct the children on proper manners, social skills, and respectful behaviour. 

 

Travel and Overnight Support: 

  • Accompany the family on multiple trips throughout the year, providing childcare and support. 
  • Provide occasional overnight care for the children. 

 

Back up Support School Pick-Up and Drop-Off:

  • Ensure safe and timely transportation of the children to and from school and other activities on an adhoc basis and only if required. 
  • Daily Routine: Oversee and facilitate a smooth and structured daily routine, including dressing, overseeing meal times, personal hygiene, and preparing for school or activities. 
  • Meals: Prepare nutritious and balanced meals and snacks for the children. Pack lunches for school and outings when required. 
  • Travel: Pack for family trips, ensuring all essentials are included for the children. Accompany the family on vacations, providing childcare and support. 
  • Errands: Run errands for the children, such as picking up supplies, attending appointments, or taking them to activities. 
  • Organizational Hygiene: Clean and organize play areas and bedrooms, clothing, toiletries ensuring a safe and hygienic environment. Maintain and restock the first aid kit, outing bag, and any other essential materials. 

 

Qualifications

The successful candidate will be a proactive, self-motivated individual who is committed to providing high-quality care and support to the family's children. 

They should have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with other members of the household staff.

Requirements

  • Experience: Proven 5-7 years’ experience as a caregiver, educator, or similar role working with young children. 
  • Travel: Ability to travel with the family multiple times a year and provide childcare support.
  • Education: Relevant qualifications in early childhood education, child development, or a related field. 
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English is required and fluency in French would be a bonus.
  • Social Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with both children and adults. 
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. 
  • Patience and Empathy: A patient, understanding, and compassionate approach to working with children while being able to set and hold boundaries. 
  • Energy and Enthusiasm: A high level of energy and enthusiasm for working with children and engaging in active play. 
  • First Aid/CPR Certification: Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Clean Driving Record: Valid driver's license and a clean driving record. 

Salary and Benefits

  • 110,000 Euros – depending on experience
  • Benefits package - public French healthcare plus private top-up
