Overview

A high-profile, VIP family is seeking a sous chef for their second home. The family is based in Amman, Jordan. The schedule for this role will be for 6 days per week and up to 10 hours per day. They enjoy multicultural cuisine, with a preference for European and Mediterranean dishes, and the candidate will work alongside the executive chef, cooking for a family of 4-5. The candidate would be required to travel with the family to Europe, UK, and the US. The position starts as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

  • Menu Development
    • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to plan and develop menus that prioritize locally sourced and seasonal produce for diverse occasions, ranging from intimate meals to private functions.
  • Execution and Quality Control
    • Supervise and participate in the preparation and plating of all food items to ensure they meet the highest 5-star standards for design, taste, and consistency.
  • Technical Mastery
    • Demonstrate proficiency across all kitchen sections, and have the ability to step in and fill any station during peak service.
  • Recipe Innovation
    • Research and apply new developments in global culinary trends or specific regional cuisines.

Qualifications

  • Should be able to provide an excellent portfolio
  • A European passport holder is preferred for travel

Requirements

  • At least 3-years experience in the same position
  • Discretion is required for the family's privacy
  • Previous experience working with VIP clients, in palaces, or luxury resorts
  • Driver required - personal car will be provided

Salary and Benefits

  • $4,000-$5,000 per month (DOE)
