Overview

A kind and loving Upper East Side-based family is looking for a long-term, reliable nanny to be a part of their family and care for their almost 3-year-old son and soon-to-be newborn son. The family is looking for a Tuesday-through-Saturday, 40 hours per week schedule with the following hours:

Tuesday: 10:30-6:30

Wednesday: 10:30-6:30

Thursday: 11-7

Friday: 10:30-6:30

Saturday: 11-7

If the candidate needed 50 hours, they are open to that for the right person.

Additionally, the family spends anywhere from 4-8 weeks in the Hamptons every summer and would need someone who can join. There is also other potential travel where they would request that the nanny join, as well as 3-5 weeks per year without the nanny, which would be PTO.

Responsibilities

  • Create a safe, supportive, joyful, and engaging environment for the child(ren)
  • Assist the family in ensuring all developmental milestones are hit
  • Spend the day actively engaging with the child, which could include going to the park, kicking soccer balls, reading, playing games, arts and craft projects, coloring, and attending classes
  • Prepare and cook the child’s meals

  • Ensure the child’s space, strollers, car seats, and toys are cleaned and organized
  • Clean bottles and dishes related to the child's meals
  • Light housekeeping when not with the children
  • Letting the dog out into the garden (the dog has its own dog walker and care, but a helpful attitude and someone who likes pets is important).

Qualifications

  • Strong communicator
  • Positive attitude
  • Team player.
  • Energetic and can fill the active toddler’s day with fun and laughter
  • Excellent references, proven longevity with at least one family, and experience adapting to a family’s changing needs as a child grows up.
  • Able to reflect the loving, kind, and supportive way in which the family parents their child.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years experience with both babies and toddlers required
  • CPR certified (or willing to get certified)
  • Able to go to the Hampton's

Salary and Benefits

  • Family is flexible for the right person
  • $40 per hour
  • 3-5 weeks PTO after the first year (will not be traveling as much with the new baby coming). You will still have PTO the 1st year as requested with notice.
  • Metro Card
  • Open to health contributions for the right person
