Overview

A wonderful welcoming family based in Camden, London, seeks an experienced, intelligent and engaging Nanny/Family Assistant.  The role can be live-in or live-out, and the schedule will normally be Monday through Friday, 7am-7pm with time for breaks during the day.  The preferred start date is sometime in May.

The role will involve the care of a bright 7-year-old boy and a newborn baby due at the end of July 2026. The successful candidate will be confident supporting a young baby from approximately 2–3 months onward, while also providing thoughtful, developmentally appropriate care for a school-aged child.  The family value curiosity, education, and kindness, and are looking for a candidate who will naturally integrate into their home with warmth and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Providing attentive, nurturing care for both children in a sole charge and shared care capacity

  • Supporting infant routines, development, and milestones

  • Engaging the older child in age-appropriate educational and recreational activities

  • School drop offs and pick ups
  • Preparing healthy, balanced meals for the children (and occasionally the family)

  • Assisting with light household duties, including children’s laundry, tidying, and organisation

  • Travelling with the family as required (likely some travel early on with Mum and baby)

  • Maintaining a calm, structured, and happy environment within the home

  • Babysitting a couple of times per week
  • Some house management duties - receiving deliveries, online ordering, occasional errands etc

Requirements

  • Warm, maternal, and genuinely passionate about childcare
  • Highly proactive, with excellent initiative and a hands-on approach
  • Discreet, trustworthy, and professional at all times
  • Intelligent and engaging, with a genuine interest in learning and child development
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to respond to a dynamic family schedule
  • A strong communicator with high emotional intelligence
  • Intuitive and able to read the room and adapt accordingly
  • Easy-going, collaborative, and solution-focused
  • Practical, with excellent judgement and common sense
  • Fun, energetic, and naturally engaging with children
  • Ideally Spanish-speaking, although this isn't essential
  • Driving appreciated but also not essential
