Overview

A professional and busy couple with multiple residents are in search of a full-time assistant who has a background in Interior Design. The family has a huge renovation on a Bedford, NY estate that will be completed in April 2027. You will work hand in hand with a very creative and design oriented principal along with top notch architects and project managers. This is an amazing opportunity for someone who wants to grow in this space. This is a full-time role and you must be able to go between Manhattan, Bedford NY and Westport CT for the time being. The schedule will align with project needs and may include time spent both on-site and coordinating externally with vendors and suppliers.

Responsibilities

This position will work closely alongside the architect and project manager on a large-scale residential project.

  • Serve as a key liaison between the architect, project manager, and vendors to ensure smooth communication and execution

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support, including document management, tracking selections, maintaining timeliness, and overseeing project organization

  • Run project-related errands, including sourcing and picking up materials as needed

  • Assist with design selections, including fabrics, finishes, hardware, and other material components

  • Anticipate project needs and pro-actively stay ahead of deadlines and deliverables

  • Maintain detailed records of orders, specifications, and approvals

  • Support large-scale project oversight to ensure design integrity and continuity throughout the build

Qualifications

  • The role requires a highly organized, design-oriented professional who can seamlessly support ongoing construction and design efforts while keeping all moving pieces aligned.

  • Strong understanding of design principles and construction terminology

  • Prior experience supporting large residential design or construction projects

  • Confident eye for selecting fabrics, finishes, and hardware

  • Highly proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate next steps

  • Exceptionally organized with strong administrative capabilities

  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a design-oriented role within architecture, construction, or interior design

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail

  • Professional communication skills and ability to coordinate across teams

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to run project-related errands

  • Able to work in 3 locations
