Overview

A fully staffed, high-functioning private household in McLean, Virginia (DC suburbs) is seeking a full-time nanny/educator to join an established and highly collaborative childcare team. This role sits within a well-defined organizational structure, supporting two children, ages 4 and 2, alongside a lead nanny who has been with the family for four years and another long-tenured nanny.

This position is ideal for an energetic, professional, and education-minded candidate who is excited to learn, grow, and contribute within a team-based environment. The household operates with strong systems, clear leadership, and shared accountability. Collaboration, follow-through, and respect for structure are essential.

Both parents are present throughout the day. Mother is home, and father is in and out, so comfort with daily parental interaction is required. The family maintains residences in multiple locations and travels frequently; flexibility and adaptability are key.

The schedule fluctuates based on travel and family needs, but the role averages 40–50 hours per week. The typical schedule is structured as four working days per week, often consisting of three approximately 12-hour shifts and one shorter shift. Weekend availability will be required. When traveling, schedules may follow a one week on / one week off pattern, with travel periods lasting 5–7 days at a time.

Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate, and the family is eager to hire as soon as the right fit is identified.
